Quilge Opie is a Quincy and the Commander of the Hunting Squad (tōkatsu shuryō taichō) of the Vandenreich's 1st Jagdarmee. He is also a member of the Stern Ritters, bearing the title of "The Jail". Due to his position and actions, he's a minor antagonist in the Millennium Blood War, particularly during the fight at Hueco Mundo.

AppearanceQuilge is a rather tall man, with customized clothing above his standard uniform. He wears gold sunglasses with red lenses and a radio in one arm. He is clean-shaven. He wears a kepi with the Quincy emblem in the center and black boots.
PersonalityQuilge has a particularly strong, haughty authority. He rules all the Arrancars, and even among his Quincy subordinates, he shows no mercy. He also criticizes his subordinates, blaming them for their slowness in reacting to Loly and Menoly's attacks. He doesn't hesitate to insult Aizen, comparing his choice of Arrancars to his power. He also loses his temper when he feels insulted, and loses his reflexes in the process.
Equipment- Spear: This spear is powerful enough to impale Arrancars, despite their resistance to Hierro. It was broken by Loly and Menoly.
- Medallion: This is a kind of medal that every Stern Ritter possesses. These items enable you to steal a Bankai from a Shinigami and use it again. Despite his best efforts, Quilge was unable to steal Tensa Zangetsu, Ichigo's Bankai.
As a Stern Ritter, Quilge possesses a level of power comparable, if not superior, to that of a Gotei 13 Captain. He was able to defeat the Tres Bestias, Halibel's Fracción, single-handedly and face Ichigo in Bankai. His main strength lies in his unique power, The Jail, which can lock an individual in a cage from which no one can escape.
In addition, Quilge possesses advanced knowledge for a Stern Ritter and a remarkable ability to adapt. Finally, Yhwach has entrusted him with the command of the Jagdarmee, which shows a certain confidence in him.
Quilge is a fighter of a level equivalent to, if not higher than, that of a Captain of the 13 Divisions. He easily defeated the Tres Bestias, namely Apacci, Mila Rose and Sun-Sun, and rivaled Ichigo Kurosaki in Shikai. Even when he's in Bankai, despite his opponent's clearly superior strength, Quilge will be able to withstand his attacks for some time.
Because of his position, Quilge naturally masters the basic techniques of the Quincys. By absorbing spiritual particles, he becomes able to move through the air or levitate, among other things.
Spiritual weapons
Using his Quincy cross, Quilge is able to concentrate spiritual energy and particles into a weapon. However, unlike most other Quincy crosses, his particular weapon takes the form of a military saber. He can use it for close combat, but also to fire Heilig Pfeil.
BlutLike all Pureblood Quincy, Quilge has mastered this technique, which enables him to increase his physical characteristics by passing his Reiatsu through his blood vessels.
- Blut Vene (静血装, Burūto Vēne, German for "Vein Blood", Japanese for "Immobile Apparent Blood"): The defensive variant of Blut. By running his Reiatsu through his veins, it allows him to harden his skin and increase his resistance to opposing attacks. This technique enabled Quilge to resist attacks from Ayon, a beast renowned for its lack of delicacy and reason, with only a few bruises. It also enabled him to survive Ichigo's Bankai, without which he would have been no match for its power.
-
Blut Arterie (動血装, German for "Arterial Blood", Japanese for "Mobile Apparent Blood"): The offensive variant of Blut. By passing his Reiatsu through his arteries, it allows him to drastically increase his power.

Ransō Tengai
The most talented Quincys use this technique to overcome their physical limits by manipulating their bodies through sheer force of will. Quilge used it when Urahara seriously injured him and prevented Ichigo Kurosaki from reaching Soul Society by blocking the exit.
FontQuilge has inherited the Schrift "J" for The Jail.
The Jail (監獄 (ザ・ジェイル), Za Jeiru; English and Japanese for "Prison"): Quilge can fire Reishi structures capable of sealing passages between dimensions or capable of locking an individual within a cage. Once trapped, there is no escape. The prisoner's Reiatsu cannot be detected, and even if he can hear his interlocutor via a Denreishinki, he cannot be heard on the other side. This cage can even withstand the power of a Getsuga Tenshō thrown at point-blank range and does not break, even after Quilge's death.
Quincy: Complete
Biskiel (神の正義 (ビスキエル), Bisukieru; Japanese for "Justice of God") : Sealed under the glove of his uniform, Quilge wears a black glove with the Vandenreich symbol over it. When activated, a large quantity of Reiatsu is released, resulting in the formation of a towering energy column that ends in a large Quincy cross, from which Quilge emerges in his new form, once the energy column is broken.
In this form, Quilge gains several accessories made of Reishi, including angelic wings, boots, bracelets on each wrist and a sword that has fused with his right hand. He gains a Heiligenschein that has the appearance of a Quincy Zeichen. The appearance of his eyes also changes. Quilge can now fly with his wings and move faster than Ichigo in Shikai.
Vollständig special ability: Quilge can now absorb large quantities of spiritual particles with his sword to form a powerful attack. In this form, Quilge's absorption of Reishi increased exponentially. He was able to absorb trees, sand, rocks and even buildings in Hueco Mundo, as well as Orihime Inoue's Sōten Kisshun.
- Sklaverei (聖隷 (スクラヴェライ), Sukuraverai; German for "Bondage", Japanese for "Holy Slave") : This technique uses the most basic of abilities to absorb spiritual particles in its most powerful form: through submission. This technique can literally assimilate spiritual objects, such as those present in Hueco Mundo, as well as spiritual bodies. When a spiritual body is affected by this technique, Quilge can adopt its characteristics, which merge with his body to increase its power. However, the technique is not permanent and the power absorbed eventually fades.
History
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
In Hueco Mundo, some Arrancars are taken prisoner by Quincys and brought before their captain, Quilge. Quilge decides to put them through a selection test by piercing them with a spear, so that the survivors can join his army. Arrancars die one after the other, until Loly and Menoly stop the spear and threaten him with their Zanpakutō. Quilge quickly puts them out of action and orders his men to be recruited. Just then, the Tres Bestias, Halibel's Fracción, arrive and massacre the Jagdarmee men, forcing Quilge to intervene.
Moments later, Ichigo arrives in front of Quilge, the Tres Bestias defeated. Quilge recognizes Ichigo, whom he identifies as one of the special war potentials, and orders his men to attack him. Ichigo is surprised to see that his opponents are Quincys, which Quilge confirms. Later, the duel between Ichigo and Quilge continues, in favor of the Shinigami. The Stern Ritter then realized that he had to face him seriously and switched to his final form, Quincy Vollständig, an evolved form of Quincy Letzt Stil. He has grown wings of energy, a halo floats above his head and his strength has clearly increased, as has his speed, taking Ichigo by surprise at his back.
Since his transformation, Quilge poses more problems for Ichigo, who fails to injure the Quincy despite a direct strike from his Getsuga Tenshō. Quilge absorbs all surrounding spiritual particles, including those from Orihime's shield, to form an attack. It's then that Quincy is attacked by Ayon, the monster created from the fusion of the left arms of the Tres Bestias. The ferocious beast leaves no respite for Quincy, who nevertheless manages to keep his human form thanks to Blut, another of his techniques. He then decides to absorb the monster in order to grow stronger with Sklaverei. He then demonstrates his new power to the Tres Bestias, Orihime and Chad, who are completely outmatched. Then Ichigo, now in Bankai, returns to confront him.
Quilge is completely overwhelmed. He repeatedly tries to steal Ichigo's Bankai and is forced to remain on the defensive. When the replacement Shinigami asks him if they're afraid of the Bankai, Quilge loses his temper and Urahara fatally wounds the Quincy. Kisuke decides to send Ichigo to Soul Society via a Garganta and summarizes their opponents' abilities based on those Quilge has demonstrated, pointing out that his Bankai is the only one the Quincys can't steal. It's then that Garganta's exit is blocked by Quilge, who rises to his feet thanks to Ransō Tengai. He attacks Ichigo, encasing him in a prison of spiritual particles before locking him inside the Garganta.
For his part, Ichigo tries to break the prison in which he is trapped when he hears the cries, complaints and hopes of all the Shinigami. This strengthens his resolve to get out and help them, and he uses Getsuga Tenshō. Quilge notices him lashing out and reveals that it's useless because his power is The Jail and he'll never be able to get out of this cage. He is about to finish off his opponents when he is cut in half by an individual whom Urahara only manages to see when the latter's sword is next to his head.
