Summary of the Series:

In Jujutsu Kaisen, all living beings emit a type of energy called Cursed Energy, which stems from negative emotions that naturally flow throughout the body. Ordinary people cannot control this flow, and as a result, they continuously lose Cursed Energy, leading to the birth of Curses—a race of spiritual beings whose primary desire is to harm humanity. These Curses are depicted as horrific monsters.

Yuji Itadori is a high school student living in Sendai with his grandfather. Despite his talent for athletics, Yuji avoids the track team due to the time commitment and instead joins the Occult Research Club. One day, Yuji's friends at the club unseal a high-grade cursed object, a rotting finger, that attracts Curses to their school. To protect his friends and Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer who comes to retrieve the object, Yuji swallows the finger and becomes the host for Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful curse. Despite being possessed, Yuji manages to maintain control over his body.

Satoru Gojo, a teacher at the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, proposes a plan to his superiors to postpone Yuji’s execution, allowing Yuji to find and consume the remaining fingers of Sukuna, thereby fully eliminating the curse.
