⛩ Sakura is the daughter of Tohsaka Tokiomi and Tohsaka Aoi. Born one year after Rin, she is therefore her younger sister. Both sisters have very high potential in Magic, but it is customary to teach only one heir (often the oldest male) the secrets of Magic, mainly to keep the entire Magic Seal of the family, and the other children are usually sent to foster families. Tokiomi is desperate for her family to reach Origin, and feels that Sakura is too talented to waste such potential.

When Matou Zouken proposes to him to have Sakura adopted by Matou Byakuya, so that she becomes the Matou heiress instead of Matou Shinji and that she also receives the teaching of Magic, Tokiomi sees it as a blessing. He happily accepts Zouken's proposal.
