⛩ The Mark of Sacrifice is the mark placed on those who are experienced in the invocation of fate, a sacrificial ceremony in which individuals bound by the laws of causality transcend their humanity, leading to the creation of an Apostle or a member of the God Hand.
The lives of the sacrificed, often those of loved ones, are then offered to the creatures of darkness and ritually murdered. In the case of the members of the God Hand, the life force of the deceased is used to complete the summoner's transition.
The only known survivors bearing this mark are Guts and Casca, who survived the Eclipse that created Femto. After these events, Guts' quest will be to seek revenge on Griffith and the God Hand members, living only for that purpose, even if it means cursing others in his quest. ⛩
