⛩ Giyu Tomioka is a demon slayer and the Water Pillar within the Demon Slayer Corps.
Giyu grew up alongside his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka. When he was still a child, his sister sacrificed herself to protect him from demons.
After Tsutako's death, Giyu tried to tell others she had been killed by a demon, but people thought he was mentally ill and sent him to a relative, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the trip and almost died on a mountain but was saved and became an apprentice under Sakonji Urokodaki.
Giyu was 13 when he met Sabito, and they became good friends due to their similar pasts and ages. Together, they participated in the Final Selection on Mount Fujikasane. Giyu was injured after a demon attack and was saved by Sabito, who defeated almost all the demons on the mountain. However, after the week passed, Giyu discovered that Sabito was the only one who died during their selection. As a result, Giyu began to doubt the authenticity of his position after becoming the Water Pillar.
As a Pillar in the Demon Slayer Corps, Giyu is a very powerful swordsman. He was able to easily defeat the transformed Demon Spider Father and Rui, the Lower Rank Five.
