Solo Leveling is on track to become one of the most acclaimed manhwa adaptations of all time.
The anime quickly won a large audience thanks to the spectacular transformation of its main hero. Sung Jinwoo, once nicknamed “the weakest hunter in the world,” awakened to a mysterious program called the System. On the brink of death during the Double Dungeon raid, Jinwoo acquired unprecedented power that grew with each level he gained.

Although Jinwoo is only beginning to fully harness his potential, fans already notice that he commands a wide range of passive and active skills bringing him closer to omnipotence. From his famous shadow extraction ability to his radical physical transformation, here is a comprehensive overview of the powers he has used in the anime so far.

Jinwoo has exclusive storage spaces and shops
Sung Jinwoo became the only “Player” of the System after narrowly escaping death in the Double Dungeon. This mysterious program unleashed unlimited potential within him, making him a formidable force. From the start, Jinwoo acquired several passive and active skills that provided a solid foundation to develop quest-specific abilities. By completing missions and dungeons, he grew without limits and gained access to the System’s inventory and shop.
Unlike most hunters, limited to a single magic or ability, Jinwoo can enjoy System rewards to obtain various weapons and skills. For example, during the S-Rank Gate raid, he summoned his shadow army to defeat the High-Orc Shaman. Other hunters were impressed, as a B or A Rank hunter can only summon three shadows at once.
Unlimited inventory and System shop

Ordinary hunters carry a limited number of items like swords, shields, and buffs. Raid groups often have dedicated carriers to quickly access items. Jinwoo, however, can access an unlimited storage space offered by the System at any time.

He can store daggers, potions, food, guild cards, and other objects without physically carrying them. In addition to this infinite inventory, he has access to the System shop, where he buys potions, clothes, food, and weapons with his reward points, according to his level.
Unlimited skill improvement
Once awakened, a hunter cannot change their status or the magic they generate. For example, an awakened E-rank hunter cannot access D-rank despite progress. This key concept of “solo leveling” shows that no one can evolve like Jinwoo.
Thanks to the System, designed to prepare Jinwoo to become Ashborn’s vessel, his skills (strength, mana, intelligence, speed...) progress endlessly with quests and levels. This growth allows him to face all types of bosses and even the most powerful S-rank hunters.
Personalized quests and dungeons
After being considered the weakest hunter, Jinwoo had to attack dungeons inaccessible to classic guilds. The System created custom quests and dungeons only for him to gain levels. The Demon Castle illustrates this secure environment where he completes daily missions, earns points, and rare items without being discovered.
Sung Jinwoo has a multitude of active and passive skills
Jinwoo gains or improves skills with each completed level
After his awakening, Jinwoo gained inherent abilities granted by the System to help him survive. He possesses physical and magical dominance exceeding hunter standards. Besides his role-related skills, he has several passive and active skills aimed to protect and strengthen his power. Passives activate automatically, while actives adapt to challenge difficulty.
Stealth mode hides Jinwoo’s presence
Stealth is one of Jinwoo’s most useful and interesting skills. Acquired after his first real fight, it makes him undetectable to enemies while increasing speed and accuracy. The user becomes practically invisible and can attack from anywhere. This skill was used by Kang Taeshik, a corrupted hunter, to kill other hunters for pleasure.
After defeating him, Jinwoo obtained this skill through a runestone. He now uses it to hide during difficult raids and attack stealthily, while his shadow army serves as a decoy. This assassin ability perfectly complements his fast combat style and lightning attacks, making him a formidable close combat opponent.

The blessing of Kandiaru grants longevity
The blessing of Kandiaru, named after the System’s creator, is a passive skill activated after his rival in the Double Dungeon. It grants intrinsic strength and health, allowing exponential skill growth. It is a guarantee of survival.
This skill, combined with the “Will to Heal,” protects Jinwoo against physical threats, poisons, and curses. It boosts his regeneration and makes him immune to diseases and fatigue.
Mana and endurance
Although Jinwoo’s mana is not infinite, it has greatly increased since his beginnings. Initially slow to absorb mana, he improved by clearing higher levels. He enhances it by consuming potions and allocating reward points.
Most of his abilities consume little mana, except summoning his shadow army, which quickly drains it. For example, in his fight against Baran, Demon Monarch, Jinwoo completely depleted his mana by re-summoning his powerful soldiers, who were quickly destroyed by Baran.
Killer intent, an intimidation tactic
Although Jinwoo’s aura is enough to frighten enemies, he possesses a specific skill called Bloodthirst or Killer Intent. It allows him to intimidate opponents for one minute, terrifying them to the point of petrification. Furthermore, it reduces their stats by 50%, making it easier for Jinwoo to attack their weak points.
