Who is Sung Suho in Solo Leveling?

Sung Suho is the direct descendant of two major figures, Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In, while also being the central hero of the spin-off series Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.

Physical Appearance

Suho embodies the image of a tall, athletic, and attractive young man. His deep gray eyes and black hair are a direct inheritance from his father, Sung Jinwoo. However, he also reflects the softer and more delicate features inherited from his mother, Cha Hae-In, bringing a harmonious balance to his face. When he unleashes his powers or experiences strong emotions, his eyes glow a vivid, intense blue—a visible sign of the power he harbors.

Personality

During his adolescence, Suho showed little interest in studies or activities lacking passion. His combative temperament led him to confront local bullies, earning him a reputation as a defender of the weak against reckless oppressors. Growing up in a family where justice and protection were core values—his father was a detective, his grandfather a firefighter—Suho naturally inherited a strong sense of justice that motivated him to act decisively against all forms of injustice.

This virtue led him to intervene without hesitation when he discovered that the Hyena Guild was kidnapping innocents for its own interests. He didn’t hesitate to attack them, even though they posed a considerable threat. His open-mindedness also led him to cooperate with former enemies of his father, such as when he apologized to Gray for inadvertently overworking him, demonstrating notable empathy despite his young age.

Despite a sometimes impulsive and aggressive nature, Suho was marked by deep insecurity during his high school years. A victim of bullying, he often felt isolated, perceiving himself as neglected by his parents and powerless to compete with classmates who had become seasoned hunters. But as soon as his awakened powers reappeared, he embarked on intense training, determined to find his parents and follow in his father’s footsteps to become the greatest hunter in the world.

As a child, Suho had a particular fascination with ants, linked to his friendship with the shadow soldier Beru. Even after his father erased those memories, his interest in ants remained intact—he regularly drew ants and carefully avoided stepping on them, showing a deep connection with nature.

Abilities

As the only son of the formidable Shadow Monarch, Suho possesses exceptional potential, placing him among the most powerful humans in the world. During his schooling, before his parents mysteriously disappeared, he underwent a trial called "The Tutorial" in a place known as the Tower. This space, neither fully real nor just a dream, allowed his father to accurately assess the extent of the powers Suho had inherited. His potential far surpassed that of a typical S-rank hunter, to the point that only Jinwoo, his father, could hope to defeat him in a duel.

However, Suho lost this peak power due to a seal placed on him, reducing his abilities to an infantile state. Since then, he has been training with a tailored and revised system designed specifically to help him regain and surpass this initial strength.

• Colossal Strength: From his earliest appearances, Suho impresses with enhanced physical strength. For example, he defeated Bellion in their first confrontation and briefly held his own against his father in an epic fight. He climbed the floors of the Demon Castle faster than Jinwoo at the same age and killed Vulcan in a few precise blows. In Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, he focuses particularly on increasing his strength over long periods, far exceeding stats expected for a rank C hunter.
