Rem ( Jap. レム, Remu ) is a god of Death. She was the one who entrusted Jealous' Death Note to Misa Amane, and she died killing L in order to save her.

Biography

Rem witnesses the death of Jealous and gets back his Death Note.

Rem meets Misa Amane and entrusts her with the Death Note of Jealous.

Rem dies by killing Watari and L with the Death Note because it means that Misa's life is extended. Light takes Rem's Death Note.
Apparence
Rem is a female. She has a skeletal white body with a shape close to Ryûk's but more rounded and without clothes. Her arms look like spines. Her hair is made of big purple strands. Her eyes are yellow, one is hidden under a blindfold and her mouth, the only vaguely feminine component of her body, is large and purple, with a particular make-up underneath. She also wears gold hoop earrings.
Personality
Rem is a rather serious and intelligent goddess. She is rather taciturn and doesn't like humans, except Misa whom she surely loves, we learn that she made a promise to Jealous. Her promise is to protect Misa: she finds all other humans hideous. She is a very calm person and she knows how to keep her cool in any situation.
