Apparence
Giorno is a teenager of average height (1m75), slim and muscular. He is shorter than the previous JoJos, and also younger at the time his adventure takes place (he is then 15 years old). He has medium length golden hair, tied back in a short braided tail with three distinctive curls arranged in a row on his forehead. His hair was originally black and unkempt but was transformed when his Stand was awakened. His eyes are blue in the manga and green in the anime and are similar to his father's.
Giorno wears a two-piece suit with a plaid coat tail. His collar is decorated with wing emblems. There is a heart-shaped opening in his chest. He wears three brooches in the shape of ladybugs. These brooches are pink in the manga and blue in the anime. His shoes also have the same ladybug emblem. The color scheme of his costume often changes in different representations, but the most common colors are blue surrounded by gold in the manga and pink surrounded by gold in the anime.
Personality
As a child, Giorno was someone who lacked confidence and had low self-esteem, due to his stepfather's actions towards him and his mother's neglect. He was also a frequent target of neighborhood gangsters and delinquents.
After meeting the gangster who changed his life, Giorno gained self-confidence and became a popular boy who was also appreciated by women. His dream is to become a "gangster", in order to put an end to the drug traffic in the streets. He will give himself the means to accomplish his dream and will not back down from any obstacle to join the gang "Passione".
Skills
Giorno is a born stand wielder, and will first use it (unconsciously) on the gangster who changed his life during his childhood, he realized his ability and learned to use it, and named his stand "Gold Experience" and then Gold Experience Requiem after his stand was pierced by the requiem arrow.
Giorno's stand does not have great physical strength, but it is fast enough to make one hit after another.
Gift of Life
Indeed, Gold Experience can breathe life into any object that comes in contact with his fists. For example, he can use this ability to convert objects into living organisms as when he transformed Polpo's lighter into a flower, or Koichi's suitcase into a frog. Giorno can also cancel this effect at will. This ability is improved when Giorno obtains Gold Experience Requiem since he is able to give life at a distance.
In the event that Giorno uses this ability against a human being, the latter will be so infused with life that his consciousness will involuntarily leave his body, and he will be unable to react to physical attacks. The pain will then be felt more intensely for a longer period of time, as in the fight against Bucciarati.
Giorno can also determine if an organism is alive with a simple touch of his hand or track down the organisms he has created.
Back to zero
Thanks to Gold Experience Requiem, Giorno is able to cancel any will or attack of his opponent, reducing to nothing any attempt of action, as if reset in a "zero" stage. The consequences of such a power give Requiem a status close to invincibility. Because of the dissociation of the stand from its wielder, the limits of this ability are not determined by Giorno Giovanna's will.
A physical contact attack by Requiem is capable of trapping its victim in a perpetual loop of death, resulting from the consequence of various and infinite actions. Each one marking the beginning of the brief consciousness preceding the other. This would symbolize the creation of a new "reality", in Gold Experience Requiem's own words, as if he had created it himself.
History
Past
Born Haruno Shiobana, Giorno Giovanna is the son of DIO and a Japanese woman. His early years are marked by the neglect of his mother. While she regularly left her home to party and did not want her son to have a good life, she left him alone at night.
When he was 4 years old, his mother married an Italian man and they moved to Italy. Haruno Shiobana became Giorno Giovanna. However, his new stepfather beat him regularly when his mother was away. Moreover, Giorno is a regular target of children of his age and other delinquents. He quickly loses confidence in himself.
One day, on his way home, Giorno encounters a man covered in blood, lying in a patch of grass. After discovering the injured man, other men approach Giorno, asking him if he knows where the man has disappeared to. Sensing that the man is like him, Giorno lies to the men and unconsciously activates Gold Experience, which grows grass around the injured man and protects him by masking his presence.
Nearly two months later, the man shows up in front of Giorno again, declaring that he will never forget what he did for him. As time went on, things took a turn for the better for Giorno, his stepfather stopped beating him and he became popular among kids his age.
It turned out that the man he had saved was actually a gangster, watching over him in the shadows. For Giorno, this is the first time someone has treated him as an equal and shown him respect. The trust that Giorno should have learned from his family was instead taught to him by this man.
Giorno had a dream to become a gangster, like the man who had helped him as a child.
Golden Wind
Gold Experience
On March 29, 2001, Giorno is 15 years old and operates as a petty thief at the Naples airport. After Koichi Hirose meets Giorno, the latter takes advantage of an illegal cab ride to steal Koichi's luggage, who uses Echoes to lighten the weight of the tires after noticing the theft. Giorno slyly smiles at Koichi and runs away, after using Gold Experience's power to turn Koichi's luggage into a frog.
Giorno then has a meeting with Luca Tear-of-the-Eye, who asks him for a commission for his latest crimes. Giorno claims to have no money, but Luca, who is not convinced, takes Giorno's wallet which contains a picture of DIO. Luca becomes more and more violent while Giorno insists that he has no money. Suddenly, the frog comes from the mutation of one of Koichi's luggage and starts to climb on Giorno's pants. Seeing the frog, Luca orders him to kill it, but Giorno refuses, saying that it has nothing to do with their situation. The refusal enrages Luca, who attempts to crush both the frog and Giorno with his shovel against Giorno's suggestions, but the side effects of his Stand ability kick in, causing the attack to bounce back and send him into a coma from severe head trauma.
Giorno then spends the money stolen from Koichi, but the two meet again. Koichi makes the first move and uses 3 Freeze on Giorno's hand, finally forcing him to reveal his Stand, Gold Experience, and manages to escape a second time. As Koichi is injured during the fight, Giorno tells him that he is a good person before running away once more.
Voici venir Bucciarati
Later, problems arise for Giorno as news of Luca's death spreads and a man named Bruno Bucciarati visits him on the funicular to interrogate him. Bucciarati reveals to him that Luca was part of a gang and his interrogation eventually turns violent, with Bucciarati hitting Giorno and causing zippers to appear on his body. This forces Giorno to fight him. Giorno, reluctant to have Gold Experience fight another human directly, uses his life-giving power offensively for the first time, which introduces him to his ability to stun his opponents and make their senses uncontrollable. Gold Experience sends Bucciarati flying through the funicular and leaves him with extremely slow movement. With Giorno's opponent temporarily defenseless, Gold Experience takes the opportunity to deliver a solid punch to Bucciarati's face, applying enough force to break a tooth. This forces Bucciarati to reveal his own Stand, Sticky Fingers. After learning of his Stand's superior strength, Bucciarati attempts to flee in order to recover, forcing Giorno to pursue him as the gangster's escape would mark Giorno as an assassination target and thus always under threat of death at any moment. Catching up with Bucciarati, the gangster attempts to hide in a teenager among a crowd to escape into the city undetected, but Giorno turns Bucciarati's tooth into a fly, allowing him to track down his target and force him out.
Bucciarati getting hit by Giorno's Gold Experience.
The two, knowing that the winner is decided by who makes the first move, prepare for a final confrontation. Unfortunately, Bucciarati causes Giorno to hit only his arm, which he swapped with the teenager's arm he was hiding in, preventing Gold Experience's life energy from passing in front of said arm. Giorno is then attacked by Sticky Fingers and has various body parts decompressed, leaving him nearly defenseless. As Bucciarati prepares to finish him off, Giorno rips his own arm to shreds to get a decisive punch in first, leaving Bucciarati unable to act again. However, instead of killing him, Giorno walks past him and tends to the unconscious teen. When Bucciarati asks him why, Giorno explains that he noticed Bucciarati sadly looking at the teen's drug-injected arm during the fight. Giorno deduced that, like Koichi, Bucciarati is a good person and recognizes that the gangster will not attack him again, which Bucciarati does. The two develop a mutual respect and Giorno boldly reveals his dream of becoming a "Gang-Star" who will take over the Neapolitan mafia in order to defend the innocent. Bucciarati, influenced by Giorno's actions and words, agrees to help him infiltrate his organization: the most powerful gang in Naples, Passione.

The gangster in a cage
Giorno is directed to a prison, where he meets a lieutenant, or "capo," of Passione known as Polpo. The latter, although in prison, seems content and secure in his cell, where he has somehow obtained a number of possessions that keep him busy. When asked about the most important quality in a person, Giorno first tells him that it could be talent. However, Polpo says that it is actually confidence that is most important. Polpo, nibbling on wine and crackers, actually seems to bite and eat his own fingers, something that disturbs Giorno, before his fingers mysteriously reappear. Polpo gives Giorno a lit lighter and tells him to keep the flame from going out for 24 hours, if he succeeds, he can join the gang. Giorno encounters his first obstacle while trying to leave the prison, as the guards order him to participate in another body check even though he was not allowed to accept anything from the prisoner. Initially burning his hand to hide the lighter while being patted, he uses Gold Experience's ability to turn the lighter into a flower, the flame hidden in the petal bud, when the prison guard makes him open his hands. The guard finally allows Giorno to leave with the unassuming flower. Back at his college and ignoring the other students as well as the janitor, Giorno manages to reach his dorm.
Initiation
At first, he tries to keep the lighter in a loaf of bread and surrounds it with books and such, in order to keep it stable and the flame safe from the moving air. However, Koichi manages to find Giorno's dormitory and tries to break in to retrieve his passport, forcing Giorno to hide in front of the window. In an effort to prevent Koichi from discovering and extinguishing the lighter, he turns his ceiling light into a snake, which burns itself while trying to catch the lighter.

Fortunately, Koichi actually finds his passport, allowing Giorno to quickly steal the lighter and escape while he was distracted. While descending the stairs, the front janitor accidentally splashes the lighter and extinguishes the flame while cleaning the stairs. As Giorno tries to figure out what to do, the janitor lights the lighter for him. However, once the lighter is relit, Polpo's Black Sabbath Stand appears. He attacks the janitor for relighting the lighter, testing him by stabbing his soul with the arrow. Since the janitor was not worthy of owning a Stand, he perishes without injury. The Stand then turns its attention to Giorno who saw the lighter relight and tries to dodge its grip. Black Sabbath, grabbing Giorno's shadow, forcibly pulls out Gold Experience and tries to stab her with the arrow. Gold Experience deeply injures his hand by simply grabbing the arrow, allowing Giorno to conclude that a direct stab is guaranteed to be fatal. Giorno, realizing that Polpo is a person who would kill innocent bystanders, decides to defeat Black Sabbath. Freeing himself from the enemy Stand's grip by performing an inversion and striking him, Giorno realizes that he can travel quickly in the shadows. Koichi enters the scene, claiming that he also saw the lighter relight. This leads Black Sabbath to target him instead. To save Koichi, Giorno turns the railing into hanging morning glories, eliminating the shadow and forcing Black Sabbath to retreat. The two settle their differences and decide to work together to defeat the enemy Stand.
Giorno introduced by the gang.
Giorno tries to move to an area with more sunlight, but Black Sabbath uses shadows or birds to move to the shadow of a tree and proceeds to do a vice grip on Giorno's ankles. When Koichi tries to use 3 Freeze on Black Sabbath, it only results in Giorno's ankles almost breaking. Before he can get Echoes' effect reversed, Giorno tells Koichi that his ability is actually exactly what he needed; Black Sabbath trapped, Gold Experience accelerates the life of the tree whose shadow housed the Stand, causing it to wither and collapse. Without a shadow to protect it from the sunlight, Black Sabbath is eliminated. The next day, Giorno meets Polpo again, who accepts him into Passione, hoping to use Giorno as another tool. However, in retaliation for Polpo killing the janitor and insulting his life, Giorno turns a gun into a banana, which leads Polpo to shoot himself when he tries to eat it.
5 plus 1
Giorno becomes the new member of Team Bucciarati, composed of five members including Bucciarati himself. When he is asked to meet the rest of the members in a restaurant, Giorno introduces himself but is coldly ignored by the others. He is then pushed to drink a cup of "tea" which is in fact the urine of one of the members, Leone Abbacchio. He gains the attention and fear of the group by doing so without hesitation, having discreetly transformed one of his teeth into a jellyfish composed of 98% water to absorb all the liquid.
The fortune of Polpo
After Polpo's death, Lieutenant Passione's seat becomes available. Bucciarati takes the group on a boat to the island of Capri to retrieve Polpo's hidden fortune, which amounts to 6 billion yen, in order to woo Passione's top brass and obtain Polpo's position, namely, Capo.
Trip to the sea
During the journey, the group faces Mario Zucchero, another member of Passione in search of Polpo's treasure. Although Giorno's teammates disappear one by one, Giorno manages to deduce that everyone is alive. Faced with the suspicious Abbacchio, Giorno allows himself to be attacked and captured by the enemy Stand in order to both help him reveal his ability and to convince him to reveal his own Stand, Moody Blues. Narancia Ghirga's shoe transformed into a fly by Gold Experience allows Abbacchio and Bucciarati to follow the captured members, and discover the secret behind the enemy Stand and defeat it and its user.
Island of Capri
Upon discovering that their rival gangster named Sale has a partner who has been running in front of the Isle of Capri, Giorno and another gang member, Guido Mista, get ahead of the rest on an inner tube turned fish by Gold Experience to clear the way, in which Giorno keeps track of Mista's movements and Mista/Sale encounters. After the defeat of Sale by Mista, the group meets another Capo named Pericolo, who came at the request of Bucciarati to take the money and then raise Bucciarati to the rank of lieutenant. They then receive their first mission: to protect Trish Una, the daughter of Passione's boss, with La Squadra di Esecuzione seeking to capture her in the hope of obtaining information about the boss and using her as leverage against him.
The first order of the Boss
Giorno's group must now guard the body of Trish Una until the traitors are killed. However, not a day later, Narancia is attacked by Formaggio, a member of the Squadra Esecuzioni assassination squad who seeks Trish's capture. While Narancia manages to kill Formaggio, the group's hideout is nearly discovered. Giorno correctly predicts that the Boss would issue new orders immediately.
Man in the Mirror et Purple Haze
Team Bucciarati is informed by computer that they must retrieve a key from Pompeii in order to secure an unknown mode of transportation that is supposed to be safe. In Pompeii, Giorno, Abbacchio and Pannacotta Fugo fight Illuso, also an assassin for the Squadra. Abbacchio and Fugo are then imprisoned in the mirror world created by Illuso's Man in the Mirror. Giorno retrieves the key with Abbacchio's help, but instead of abandoning his comrades and escaping for the sake of the mission, he infects himself with Fugo's Purple Haze Stand killer virus and leaves himself open to Illuso in order to pass it on.
Giorno creates a snake with Gold Experience that tracks Illuso's movements and location, allowing Fugo to properly corner the enemy with Purple Haze and kill him without needing to see him. Despite Fugo's insistence that the Purple Haze virus will inevitably kill him, Giorno cures himself by creating antibodies with the power of Gold Experience. Fugo is amazed at how Giorno's actions always lead to success and congratulates him.
The express for Firenze
The Boss's next orders are engraved on the key: Bucciarati must now go to the Naples train station and then take a train ride to Venice. While the gang finds the Coco Jumbo turtle that can serve as a shelter and hideout for everyone thanks to its Mr. President Stand, they are pursued by a duo of Squadra assassins, Pesci and Prosciutto.
Inside the train, the Bucciarati team is attacked by the Pesci and Prosciutto team, and suddenly everyone ages. Before succumbing to the forced aging, Giorno still manages to figure out Prosciutto's The Grateful Dead and its weaknesses, then relays it to the rest of his team. Mista and Bucciarati would then use this knowledge to defeat Prosciutto and Pesci. However, during the battle, Pesci stops the train after killing the drivers and the gang is now immobilized. Finally, Bucciarati manages to finish Pesci off.
Baby Face
Still forced to go to Venice, Team Bucciarati first tries to hitch a ride, but the bad behavior of Mista's Sex Pistols leads him to knock out the driver, leaving the gang to have to change their plan again. In a parking lot, Giorno impresses everyone a second time by using his power to turn a large number of cars into masses of frogs and give the illusion that many cars have been stolen, so that the car the gang actually takes will be harder to follow.
Giorno versus Melone's Baby Face.
Meanwhile, another assassin, Melone, has used his Baby Face Stand to track Bucciarati and neutralize him and Trish inside the turtle. The Stand-alone, blocked by Giorno, is ordered to kill him. At first, Baby Face apparently kills Giorno by stealing a piece of his eye and throat and leaving him to die. However, it is then that Giorno, within seconds of death, is finally able to learn of Gold Experience's ability to repair wounds by converting necessary living objects, using it to heal himself. This new ability gives him the advantage against Baby Face and he attacks the Stand before he can escape with the turtle. Baby Face disguises himself as Giorno's shadow and ambushes him, but Giorno turns one of his hands that was previously severed by the enemy's ability into a piranha, which cuts its way through Baby Face. Baby Face retaliates by attacking Giorno's hand again. However, the hand was never meant to stay attached, as Giorno created it from the entirety of Melone's motorcycle for the sole purpose of letting Baby Face attack him, creating a successful trap. Giorno is able to win against him without the help of others by trapping the Stand inside the bike and blowing it up. Afterwards, Giorno sends a poisonous snake made from the corpse of Baby Face back to Melone, who is bitten and killed.
Unfortunately, Ghiaccio's Stand White Album is virtually immune to Gold Experience and Sex Pistols, preventing the creation of life with its cold and using ice armor to stop bullets, respectively. Making the mistake of underestimating Ghiaccio, Giorno is trapped by ice as their car veers off the road and into the sea, and despairs of surviving the encounter. Yet Giorno creates weed from various car parts to allow Mista to escape, as Mista claims to have discovered a weak spot in Ghiaccio's armor.
In the ensuing firefight, Mista is still subdued by Ghiaccio's new ability, "Gently Wheeps," and Giorno notices that Mista has decided to give his own life for the sake of the mission, a "self-sacrificing will" that runs counter to Giorno's idea of what "resolve" is. He calls her out on it, telling her that resolution is "plotting your way through the darkness," before severely damaging his own arm and throwing blood on Ghiaccio, creating floating crystals that allow Mista to see his target clearly. Mista thanks Giorno for his ever-present advice before having one last fight with Ghiaccio and sending his neck into a shattered streetlight. Although Ghiaccio continues to live, the fact that he cancels his ability unintentionally frees Giorno. Giorno saves Mista when he is shot in the head and heals him, praising his determination. He then finishes Ghiaccio off by quickly hitting him with Gold Experience until his neck is completely impaled. In the aftermath, Mista admits how grateful he is to Giorno and his actions, though Giorno simply points out how painful the healing process for his Stand will be.
The mystery of King Crimson
Giorno and Mista recover the disk containing the last orders of the Boss, which is to take Trish to the Basilica of San Giorgio. Bucciarati must take the Boss's daughter inside the basilica, while respecting the instructions of his superior. Giorno, eager to learn more about the Boss's identity, gives Bucciarati a live pin in order to track down the Boss. But, to their surprise, the Boss intends to kill Trish, which Bucciarati refuses and the latter decides to oppose his boss. Unfortunately, Bucciarati is no match for the Boss's stand, King Crimson. Outside, Giorno notices something is wrong when time seems to be moving forward and quickly intervenes as Bucciarati's phone is destroyed, using the Gold Experience ability to delay the Boss long enough to save Trish and allow Bucciarati to escape. Bucciarati apparently succumbs to his injuries when Giorno arrives, causing him to try to shake him awake after treating his wounds. Shortly thereafter, Giorno hears Bucciarati's voice calling him from behind before Bucciarati wakes up. Back at the ship, the two men officially announce to the rest of the group that they have rebelled against the Boss, seeking to overthrow him. Although most are frightened by this new development, all but Fugo follow Bucciarati for their own reasons. Giorno notices that Bucciarati does not react to pain, does not bleed, and is unnaturally cold to the touch.
Clash and Talking Heads
Still in Venice, the Bucciarati team debates what to do. Trish finally informs them that the boss has met his mother on the island of Sardinia, giving the group a solid lead. At the same time, Passione's agents Tizziano and Squalo stealthily attack the group. Narancia is forced to lie constantly because of Tiziano's Talking Head Stand, but Giorno is the first and only one to suspect that they are under attack.
Giorno allows himself to be shot by Aerosmith so that Narancia can follow him.
As Squalo's shark-like Stand Clash nearly kills him, Giorno manages to advise Narancia to go after the Stand handlers, taking bullets from his Aerosmith stand to help Narancia keep track of his location and giving him a spare tongue to counter the effects of Talking Head. Narancia manages to kill the two Stand wielders. Narancia praises Giorno internally and believes that he is the reason why the gang could win against the Boss.
On the way to Sardegna
After Squalo and Tizziano are defeated, the group decides to use the chance they have and leave Venice by plane. However, while trying to steal a plane from a nearby military airport, they are confronted by a mysterious man, Carne. Mista ends up killing Carne with ease after several warnings to back off, but Giorno remains somewhat suspicious.
Notorious B.I.G
On the plane, Giorno's suspicions are confirmed when the Notorious B.I.G. Stand attacks the group. Having no host and therefore unable to be killed, the Stand proves invulnerable, severely injuring Narancia and Mista by consuming a large portion of their Stands. In the end, Notorious B.I.G forces Giorno to sacrifice both hands in an attempt to remove him from the plane. The gang retreats to the safety of the pilot's cabin, but without his hands, Giorno can no longer heal anyone, including himself.
Spice Girl
Trish discovers one of the pins in her outfit slowly turning into a hand; an action Giorno did as a precaution for the loss of both his hands. Unfortunately, Notorious B.I.G manages to catch the plane, but Trish awakens her Spice Girl Stand when she becomes determined to make sure the replacement hand stays safe. Eventually, Trish manages to give the hand to Giorno and destroys the plane, plunging Notorious B.I.G. into the sea.
In Sardinia, the Bucciarati team investigates the Boss' past. Abbacchio uses his Moody Blues to go back in time when the Boss took a picture of Trish's younger mother, while the rest of the group is drawn to strange events happening at a distance (the dual personality of the Boss Vinegar Doppio in a battle with the very leader of the Squadra, Risotto Nero). They find a wounded boy with his mouth sewn shut and clothes stolen, and Bucciarati realizes too late that they made the terrible mistake of leaving Abbacchio vulnerable, as he was killed by the Boss.
Hello! We are on the line
Narancia desperately begs Giorno to heal Abbacchio, though Giorno gravely notes that Abbacchio's death was too sudden for him to be saved. Although Bucciarati orders the group to move away from the body, Giorno discovers that Abbacchio has rewound far enough back in time to successfully expose a negative of the boss' face and fingerprints. While their attempts to investigate the police databases with the mold are unsuccessful, the Bucciarati team is noticed by a third party who reveals the name of the boss, Diavolo and his stand, the King Crimson's ability to erase time (see stand page). Showing them the Arrow to gain their trust, the unknown individual promises them a power capable of defeating the King Crimson when they meet in Rome. As they leave, the Boss sees their determination and suspects that he hasn't won yet, then chases them to Rome.
Destination: the Colosseum!
Upon arriving at the Italian coast, the group is attacked by a Stand that causes an explosive growth of carnivorous molds. In addition, another Stand wielder capable of swimming through solid concrete also attacks them. The duo Cioccolata and Secco attempt to kill the Bucciarati team on the coast but Giorno, managing to deduce how Cioccolata's Green Day Stand works, allows the entire group to escape their attack long enough to steal a car and leave.
Green Day and Oasis
On the way to Rome, Bucciarati reveals that he has been dead since the first encounter with Diavolo, that he was only able to continue when Gold Experience brought his body to life, and that his time was running out as his senses began to dull and his body to deteriorate.
Cioccolata and Secco follow them to Rome where Cioccolata's Green Day causes chaos while flying in a helicopter. Mista is initially unable to hit the helicopter, but Giorno assists him and turns the next round of bullets into branching vines that trap the helicopter. Giorno and Mista split from Bucciarati to fight Cioccolata, reaching the roof of the building where the helicopter was caught. The Sex Pistols, and by extension Mista himself, are mysteriously incapacitated with the exception of #5 during the helicopter shooting and Giorno decides to approach Cioccolata alone, seeing the widespread death and chaos caused by the mad doctor.
After a fight with Cioccolata's dismembered body, Giorno is sent falling from the building, only to use the bullet brought by No. 5 to catch himself by creating a branch to hold onto. Cioccolata tries to knock Giorno down once again by tilting the helicopter, but inadvertently the branch turns into a bullet, which comes into contact with the spinning propellers and pushed back into his head, apparently killing him. Giorno starts talking to his body that he will spare him if he doesn't move when he approaches him and the doctor turns out to be alive and tries to kill Mista.
Giorno beating Cioccolata to death.
A beetle begins to eat away at the doctor's brain as Giorno reveals that he was only talking to buy time for the bullet to turn and that he actually lied to Cioccolata about sparing him in order to let his guard down. Gold Experience finishes Cioccolata off with an endless raffle of punches, sending various body parts into a trash compactor while Giorno deals with Mista.
A little story from the past
Bucciarati also manages to kill Secco, but as the group was divided, Vinegar Doppio is able to approach their contact first. Jean-Pierre Polnareff, who had been working against Diavolo for many years, confronts the Boss. Giorno realizes that time is running out and warns Mista and Trish.
His name is Diavolo
Polnareff is quickly overpowered by Diavolo and mortally wounded, with no choice but to use the Arrow on his Silver Chariot.
Requiem resounds in silence
Silver Chariot Requiem awakens from Polnareff's stand and puts everyone in Rome to sleep, before exchanging souls. A great confusion arises when Giorno finds himself in Narancia's body and Diavolo's is now inhabited by Bucciarati's soul. Bucciarati orders Mista to deactivate whoever is in his unconscious body, which he follows, unwittingly killing Doppio as a result.
Narancia impaled in the body of Giorno.
However, Narancia in Giorno's body is brutally impaled on broken iron bars, momentarily afterwards, and everyone notices that time has been erased once again.
Giorno is the first to realize that Diavolo and King Crimson were not the ones in Bucciarati's body. Pushing everyone out of the way to get to Narancia, Giorno realizes that like Abbacchio, he died instantly and all he can do is return to his own body. Before returning to the problem of the Chariot Requiem, Giorno covers Narancia's body with flowers. Promising Narancia that he won't let anyone hurt him again and to bring him home, Giorno becomes more determined than ever to grab the Arrow and take down the Boss of Passione.
The group heads to Chariot Requiem and discovers that he is impervious to those who do not try to take the Arrow from him. Bucciarati trips him, causing him to drop the Arrow. Giorno catches it, but Gold Experience's hand presses against his as it comes out of a crack in the ground. He then throws a rock at the Arrow and is almost hit by the same rock on the back of his head. It is then that Giorno is convinced that Chariot Requiem will not allow anyone to come in contact with the Arrow, using the very supports of its offenders to guard it. However, this does not prove true for Polnareff, who is no longer in control of his own Stand. Taking the arrow in his mouth, Chariot Requiem stands up and attacks him, even after he drops it. When Mista tries to shoot Chariot Requiem and slow him down, his gun shatters, apparently from metal fatigue, and he swaps it with a nearby policeman's gun. This gets Giorno's attention as he begins to feel something else. Chariot Requiem, just as quickly as he started to attack Polnareff, stops, picks up the Arrow and starts to walk away again. This leaves the group in confusion, but Polnareff tells everyone that they are slowly transforming into something unknown, Chariot Requiem's true ability is just beginning.Requiem silently echoes

A great confusion arises when Giorno finds himself in Narancia's body and Diavolo's is now inhabited by Bucciarati's soul. Chariot Requiem, just as quickly as he started to attack Polnareff, stops, picks up the Arrow, and starts walking away again. This leaves the group in confusion, but Polnareff tells everyone that they are slowly turning into something unknown, Chariot Requiem's true ability is just beginning.
Reappearance of Diavolo!
Before the band continues after Chariot Requiem, Giorno orders everyone to stop. Taking out Mista's broken revolver, he analyzes it and sees that it wasn't metal fatigue that broke it: it was broken by something strong enough to bend and twist the metal. He realizes that Diavolo is not only nearby, but he also possesses one and hides in their bodies in order to sabotage them. Giorno reminds everyone of his ability to sense life energy, saying that he would be able to tell if there is an extra soul in one of their bodies, but King Crimson's notorious strength would risk someone getting killed in an instant if Giorno is five meters away. Nevertheless, Giorno accepts the risk and proceeds to approach his teammates.
He starts with Mista in Trish's body, but Mista is too paranoid to let Giorno, who might be possessed himself, approach him, threatening to shoot him. Deciding that he would be wasting time trying to convince Mista otherwise, Giorno moves towards Bucciarati who is in Diavolo's body. Before moving, Giorno bites his own index finger and holds it on his hand to let the blood flow, an ability he learned from Polnareff to check when time is erased. When he approaches, he and Bucciarati instantly realize that time has been erased when the amount of blood suddenly increases. King Crimson attacks Giorno from behind, cutting off his arm and punching him in the head. Diavolo takes possession of Trish in Mista's body and rushes towards Chariot Requiem, dodging all of Mista's attacks with his time erasure. He discovers Chariot Requiem's weakness and almost destroys it, taking the Arrow for himself. However, Giorno made sure to splash his blood on King Crimson when his arm was severed and turns the drops into a swarm of ants that chew and break off the top of the Arrow to take it to their creator.
This forces a fight between Diavolo against Mista and a weakened Trish, using their supports to try and take the Arrow. Furious at its very existence, Diavolo punches Trish so hard that he propels her yards away, only to hit the Arrow which would land in Mista's hands.
The king among kings
In a last ditch effort, Bucciarati, who had solved the riddle of Chariot Requiem as well, destroys the remains of Chariot Requiem to bring everyone back into their bodies, saving both Trish and snatching the souls of Diavolo and King Crimson from the Arrow, at the cost of his own life. Bucciarati thanks Giorno for "bringing him back to life," restoring the dying faith in his heart during their first meeting and ascends to heaven guided by angels. When the dust settles, the Arrow falls into Giorno's hands. Taking this to himself with new resolve, he pierces the Arrow into Gold Experience.
Diavolo, who has just returned to his own body, realizes what is happening and wastes no time in moving to kill Giorno, striking Gold Experience with enough force to break his head. However, a new Stand pops up from below and a second attack from King Crimson frees him.
Gold Experience Requiem
Giorno stands before Diavolo with his own Stand Requiem: Gold Experience Requiem. Diavolo, confidently erases time and positions himself behind him to finish Giorno off after a brief demonstration of Golden Experience Requiem, simply believing that the Stand had received a simple upgrade. However, Gold Experience Requiem reveals its true ability to return anything to its original state, effectively undoing any action or process it desires and preventing them from happening, including King Crimson's time erasure.
After Gold Experience Requiem finally destroys King Crimson and sends Diavolo waltzing into nearby waters, Mista and Trish rush to find Diavolo's body. Giorno, however, remains convinced that Diavolo is dead, having felt Requiem's power without understanding it.
