Hinata Uzumaki is a kunoichi of the Hyuga clan in Konoha village and a member of the Kurenai team.
Hinata Hyuga has become a household name with the rise in popularity of the manga and anime Naruto. Created by Masashi Kishimoto, the manga was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Fans were immediately drawn to the storyline, making Naruto one of the best-selling manga to date. The series would go on to be adapted into anime, movies, and even video games. (Some even consider it better than Dragon Ball Z). The main character, naturally known as Naruto, helped launch the series to its popularity. However, it is the simple and shy Hinata who will conquer hearts and play a major role in its worldwide recognition.
House Hyuga is a powerful family that expects nothing less than perfection from its members. At a young age, Hinata did not live up to the standards of her family and was considered worthless. As the series progresses, Hinata will become a character that fans can relate to and want to follow. Despite her popularity, there is much that fans may not know about Hinata Hyūga.🧐

History
She was born on December 27, three months after the Kyuubi attack on Konoha. Hinata became the eldest daughter of the head of the Hyuga clan, Hyuga Hiashi, and his anonymous wife. As the first child of the main branch, Hinata was the heir-apparent of the main house of the clan. However, little is known about her mother. From the beginning, because of her position as the future heir of the clan, Hiashi had high expectations, especially hope for Hinata and subjected her to long hours of exhausting training, leaving little time for Hinata to have free time for herself. That's why, just like Naruto, Hinata didn't have a normal childhood either. After training with Neji, she sits outside with him while feeling very depressed at the same time. Hinata tells him that she hates taijutsu, and she is surprised when Neji tells her that it is snowing outside. Hinata then smiles when she sees that too. She then hears Neji telling his story about the snowball fight with his father. The family then takes a family picture after Neji gets the seal of the caged bird, as she blushes when the picture was taken.
After the end of another conflict between Kumo and Konoha, one night however, Hinata, while sleeping in her room, was kidnapped by a Kumo head ninja, who, under the pretext of making a peace treaty with Konoha, had actually been sent there to steal the Byakugan. Her father killed the would-be kidnapper to save her, but Kumo demanded compensation in the form of Hizashi's corpse because he had to sign a peace treaty with the village moments before.

This eventually led to the death of Hinata's uncle, Hyuga Hizashi, who sacrificed himself to protect his clan and village. The event is what will be called the Hyuga affair. This incident was also particularly significant in the way Hinata began to have a relationship with her older cousin/surrogate brother, Hyuga Neji. Ironically, she began calling her cousin "Neji-Niisan," but in the English version, she calls him "Big Brother Neji." However, when she was still three years old, she was named after her little sister Hanabi who was born on March 27.
On a snowy day, while enrolling in the Ninja Academy, Hinata was degraded by three male bullies for her Byakugan. The three bullies had given her the nickname "Byakugan monster", in which she sadly cried when she heard it. However, Uzumaki Naruto, who had witnessed the event while she was sitting on a swing, angrily refused to let them insult her and came to her defense. As they outnumbered him three to one, the bullies beat him and trampled his dark red scarf. Surprised to see how Naruto had defended someone he didn't know, Hinata thanked him when he regained consciousness and tried to give him back his scarf. However, he willingly left the scarf with Hinata, who kept her torn scarf as a reminder of their first meeting. She developed a strong admiration for Naruto from that day on, and became one of the few people in the village who did not reject or avoid him.
While at her uncle's funeral, Hinata saw Neji crying and left the building. That night, while she was alone outside, she started to cry too. However Naruto who was wearing a new red replacement scarf, asks her what she is doing out here by herself, and how he is supposed to know when she cries again. He then takes her home, and sees how big her house is. However, he asks her why she is crying if she lives in a big house, which shocks her. As Naruto blushes not looking at her, he turns around and smiles at her. Naruto tells her that he was alone and that he never cries. When Hinata sees Naruto waving to her to leave, she is surprised. However, Hiashi came out and told her, for the sake of her and her family, that sacrifices had been made. In particular, she told him that it was time for her to get to know the feelings of others. After hearing that Himata was thinking about Neji again, she thinks about Naruto and then sees more snow falling. As she starts training again, Hinata struggles with her father during their training sessions and her shyness prevents her from excelling.
Just like Naruto and his other classmates, Hinata also became a student of Umino Iruka. Even after she entered the Ninja Academy, Hinata secretly spied on Naruto's training to see if he could master Kage Bunshin without technique, despite the fact that Naruto or other members of the Hyuga clan didn't know that Hinata had been doing this for some time. She also secretly encouraged Naruto, whenever he was paired to train with Sasuke in a sparring match. Ironically, she was defended by Naruto when three bullies attacked her in class. That's why she tried to thank Naruto in person, but was always interrupted. She even talked to Iruka when they saw Naruto laughing with Shikamaru and Choji. Hinata even dressed like Naruto, wearing the same orange vest as him, but in her favorite color to show that she cared about him. This admiration for Naruto later turned into a monstrous crush, despite the warnings of her elders who advised her to stay away from him. It was at this time that she started calling him "Naruto kun", but in the English version, she refers to him by his first name.
After Hinata was brutally beaten in a match with Neji, Hinata's father and grandfather began to doubt her potential, especially when Hanabi's own prowess began to rival Hinata's, even though she was five years younger. Finally, when Hinata was 12, it was decided that Hinata and Hanabi would duel to decide the future heir of their clan. As the two sisters began to fight on equal terms, Hinata soon had the opportunity to win, but hesitated not wanting to hurt her little sister, to which Hanabi quickly countered and won the duel. Eventually, her fragility discouraged her father, causing Hinata to lose her position against Hanabi. As her father chose to focus on Hanabi, he left Hinata under the care and protection of Yuhi Kurenai, considering her a lost cause due to her lack of drive.
Hinata's strained relationship with her father caused her to lose more confidence and she often spent her time alone, crying. It wasn't until long after she saw Naruto as a role model that her perception changed dramatically. Ever since he saved her from the bullies who didn't like her eyes by calling her a monster, Naruto felt similar to her since everyone in the village called her a monster and an outcast. For Hinata, it made her happy to have found someone she could relate to, and who was like her. She came to see Naruto's desire for attention and his struggle to overcome the low expectations others had of him. Despite this, Naruto never lost confidence in himself or his dream of becoming the next Hokage. Surprised at how much Naruto wanted to help her, and believing that she too deserved recognition, Hinata was inspired. Like Naruto, she finally decided to do her best to become strong and never give up, so that she too could be recognized, including gaining her father's approval.
Personality
Hinata is shy, serene and very polite, using the appropriate noun suffixes all the time. She is very friendly, a trait that her father and Neji used to consider as a flaw and does not like to compete and fight. Probably as a result of her father's disdain for her, Hinata lacks self-confidence but she is very hardworking. She is also incredibly open to others and, because of her upbringing, is one of the first characters who identifies herself through Naruto's painful childhood and desire to be recognized. Generally, Hinata opts to think carefully before acting and when she really manages to gather enough confidence in herself, she can be surprisingly competent. She became much more open about her opinions in Part I, and in Part II, Hinata is generally more confident and shows an occasional willingness to act decisively, unlike before.
Hinata gets along well with her teammates. Kiba's actions towards her are often motivated by his concern for her, such as when he asked her to forfeit if she had to fight Neji or Gaara in the Chûnin Exam. Shino trusts Hinata blindly and will make sure to assure others when they doubt or worry about her. Hinata is also the closest to their sensei, Kurenai, who is not only interested in Hinata's development as a ninja but also as a person. She knows Hinata's personal struggles and, unlike her demanding father, Kurenai does her best to train Hinata so that she knows her student will do her best. After Hinata was defeated by Neji in the Chûnin Examination, Kurenai congratulated her student for her resolution and perseverance. At the end of Part I, she developed a better relationship with both her cousin, Neji, and her father and began to train with them.
Hinata has always had a long-standing admiration for Naruto, which gradually turned into stronger feelings, eventually leading her to fall in love with him. Even Naruto's two and a half years of absence did not change her feelings for him, and as a result, she fainted when she saw him again. 12] From the beginning, Hinata's affection for Naruto was known to almost everyone who knew her except Naruto himself, who was unaware of her feelings at first (until she confided in him) despite her constant blushing when she was around him. Nevertheless, Naruto showed that he cared a lot about Hinata and always had a high regard for her as a friend because of her desire to change and be recognized, something he could understand. During Pain's invasion, Hinata finally confessed her love for Naruto and was also inclined to protect him, even if it cost her life. This event was the first time that Hinata spoke to Naruto without blushing, without being embarrassed and without awkwardness.
From the time of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Hinata showed more courage and confidence, now that she was willing to put her own life on the line for her friends and family, as she protected Neji when they were fighting side by side. Hinata resolved to protect her teammates and her village no matter what, telling Shino that this war was about protecting Naruto and that defeat was not an option. 14] When the entire shinobi force rushed to Naruto's aid, Hinata made a resolution: once the war was over, she would stand by him, walking with him, holding his hand.
Since becoming a mother, Hinata became more confident and raised her children with love, but when she gets angry, she scares her own husband Naruto and her eldest son Boruto, just like her late stepmother Kushina.
Apparence
As a Hyuga, Hinata possesses the Byakugan, which gives her white eyes without features (the anime depicts them with lavender shades). She has dark blue hair that she keeps in a man's cut of different lengths and a light skin that she inherited from her mother. In the first part, her hair is short, held just above her forehead with chin length strands framing her face. In the second part, her hair reaches the small of her back and the locks that frame it reach shoulder length. In Naruto Shippuuden 7, her hair extends past her hips. As an adult, her hair is cut, usually between Parts I and II, but sometimes it is long enough to form a ponytail. By the end of part II, Hinata has developed a distinctly feminine figure.
During her early childhood, Hinata usually wore a light yellow hooded jacket, while wearing a dark pink t-shirt inside the jacket. The hood of the light yellow jacket is light blue, the pants dark blue and the sandals blue. She is also wearing a baby blue long sleeve hooded vest with a light pink hood, along with dark brown pants and blue sandals to complete the outfit. On a snowy day in March, when she met Naruto for the first time as a child while they were enrolling in Ninja Academy, Hinata wore a light dark purple long-sleeved jacket along with a light green teal striped scarf, while wearing a light blue t-shirt inside her jacket that included dark blue pants and blue sandals. When Iruka asked Hinata and her classmates who they would like to spend their last day with if the earth was destroyed or if the moon fell to earth, Hinata was seen wearing the exact same outfit that Naruto was wearing when they first met Iruka. Except that her version of the outfit was a light purple hooded vest (with the pockets added to the front of the vest) and she was wearing a light blue t-shirt inside the vest. She was also wearing dark blue pants and blue sandals.
In the first part, she wore a cream colored hooded vest with a fire symbol on the top of the right and left sleeves and fur around the cuffs and hem, with navy blue pants. After obtaining her genin rank, she wore her Konoha frontal protector around her neck. At the Chunin exam finals, Hinata wore a light blue blouse with long sleeves and a high collar, and dark blue pants. At home, she was seen in the traditional Hyuga outfit, consisting of a simple loose dress with different colored trimmings and an undershirt.
In Shippuden, Hinata dons a new outfit consisting of a loose fitting lavender and cream long-sleeved jacket with a zipper, lavender cuffs over mesh armor with navy blue pants and low-heeled black sandals. Although she still wears her forehead protector around her neck, her color has changed from blue to black. During the Fourth Shinobi War, she wears the standard uniform of her village, including the bulletproof vest. Instead of wearing the frontal protector of the allied Shinobi forces, she apparently chose not to wear one at all.

Two years after the fourth Shinobi war, Hinata changed her previous outfit for a slightly more revealing and form-fitting one. She is now seen wearing a light lavender sleeveless kimono style blouse with vertical lines, tied with a dark purple obi around the waist. She wears short dark navy blue shorts with thigh-high stockings and has changed her usual ninja sandals for black high-heeled boots. She also no longer wears her forehead protector. Off-duty, she wears a gray long-sleeved shirt under a pink shirt, black pants under a long cream skirt with pink horizontal stripes, and a pair of brown sandals. She is also seen wearing a lavender hooded jacket. After Hinata was brainwashed by Toneri at their wedding ceremony, she wore a long, sleeveless black dress with a high collar and matching long gloves. She also wore a black turban with a black and light yellow veil over it and yellow crescent moon earrings. When she married Naruto, Hinata wore a traditional white wedding kimono, her long hair had been put up and she wore lipstick.
After becoming a mother, her casual outfit changed to a brown jacket with a dark purple shirt and a cream skirt. She also wore a pair of lavender slippers. After Naruto becomes the seventh Hokage, Hinata dresses in an outfit consisting of a white long-sleeved shirt with a collar, a lavender dress and blue pants. At the time of Himawari's birthday, Hinata wears a purple short-sleeved jacket with a white shirt underneath, light brown shorts and a pair of purple open-toed boots. In the manga Boruto, Hinata wears a necklace with the Uzumaki symbol. She also wears a long light purple shirt, while having it covered by a dark purple dress. Her long sleeve shirt is also decorated with a striped necklace. She also wears short pants and small open-toed shoes. However, in the anime, she is wearing her Boruto movie outfit. In addition to having two bangs in her hair.
Skills
Although she was considered a failure in Part I by her own father, Hiashi, Hinata's newfound resolve allowed her to refine her techniques, which eventually changed her father's opinion of her, and she later became a chûnin. During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Hiashi considered her strong enough to protect his cousin, Neji, as much as he protected her. 16] Naruto praised her strength, recalling how she fought Pain when he was pinned down. 17] Like her teammates, she is a skilled tracker.
In the anime, Hinata is revealed to be able to use medical ninjutsu, using the Mystic Palm technique to heal the injured citizens of Hacho Village
Byakugan
As a member of the Hyuga clan, Hinata possesses the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai dôjutsu which gives her a near 360° vision (except for a small blind spot at the level of the 1st thoracic vertebra), an X-ray sight and the ability to see the chakra circulation system. Hinata can focus the sight of her Byakugan to greatly increase its range in one direction for at least 10 kilometers. 19] During the mission to find the Bikôchû (Sniffer Insect), she was able to use her Byakugan to amplify and magnify everything within sight, effectively seeing all the small insects in the area and could also see in infrared. Using her Byakugan in a similar way, Hinata was able to shoot watery needles very accurately at fast and tiny targets. In Part II, during her fight against Guren, Hinata demonstrated her newfound mastery of her kekkei genkai; Hinata's Byakugan was first defeated by Guren's Crystal Labyrinth, which refracted light producing multiple duplicate images of itself. However, Hinata was able to focus on her target and allowed the Byakugan to work enough for her to accurately perceive Guren's actual chakra network and not the reflections, and she also showed that her Byakugan could also see tenketsu from now on. It was confirmed by Kakashi that Hinata can use her Byakugan to see through genjutsu, since he asked her to do so when they were fighting Tobi.
Jûken
Being a member of the Hyuga clan, Hinata specializes in hand-to-hand combat, fighting with taijutsu. Her fighting style is the unique style of her clan, the Jûken (Flexible Fist), which takes advantage of the ability of the Byakugan to see the opponent's chakra circulation system. It also allows her to cause severe internal trauma with little external force by relying on the surgical injection of chakra into an opponent's chakra network to cause damage. However, when Hinata was first introduced, she was considered weak by Hiashi Hyûga standards, not being as strong and fast as Neji or his sister.
During the time between the two parties, Hinata improved her taijutsu tremendously and now displays a wide variety of techniques from her clan. When she faced Pain later in the anime, her attacks were more powerful, enough to break Pain's chakra disrupting blades that were holding Naruto down and also to land blows on Pain. In the Sanbi arc of the anime, Hinata performed the 32 Hakke Fists, a minor version of the 64 Hakke Fists. Hinata also continued to develop her natural flexibility. This was shown when she fought Nurari in the anime when she was able to dodge most of his attacks, despite the elastic body of the enemy. She can also collaborate with Neji, using the Hakke Palm Wall, which is a variation of the Hakke Palm in which both users create a huge wave of chakra that targets the opponent's vital points.
Hinata also acquired her own original arsenal. In the anime, she developed the 64 Protective Hakke Fists, a technique that can take advantage of her great flexibility and coordination to both attack and defend. She also demonstrated the Twin Palms of the Nimble Lions technique, which was not seen much in the manga, but in the anime was momentarily able to crush Neji during their training and break Pain's chakra receptors easily.

Chakra control
After the Chûnin Examination, Hinata trained to become stronger, improving herself in order to take advantage of her excellent chakra control. The results of this training were shown during the Bikôchû Research arc; she was first shown training near a waterfall, where she formed an orb of water around herself. She was later shown forming needles made of water which she used to attack a swarm of bees. Her newly acquired better chakra control also allows her to emit chakra flows from her palms to create very sharp blades, which can be used to hit any target in her field of vision. With her excellent chakra control, Hinata is able to freely manipulate the size and strength of the chakra blades, allowing her to use this technique for both attack and defense.
In Part II of the anime, Hinata's chakra control improved greatly as seen in the Sanbi arc, where, despite not being a doctor ninja, her chakra control was mentioned as being at least comparable to others, as she was chosen to perform the Four Corners Sealing Barrier with Sakura, Ino and Shizune. Ino, although trained as a medic ninja, had difficulty maintaining and controlling her chakra to hold the seal, unlike Hinata, who succeeded with ease.
Taijutsu
Thanks to Byakugan's ability to see the opponent's chakra path system, Hinata specialized in the Hyuga signature "Gentle Fist" style of taijutsu. It allows her to surgically inject chakra into an opponent's chakra network to cause severe internal trauma with minimal contact. Even before she was a genin, Hinata's skills impressed the other members of the clan, but her father originally considered her weaker than Hanabi, in part because of her reluctance to harm her younger sister in their duel. However, in the anime that followed Tsunade's transformation into the Hokage, Hiashi trusted Hinata to perform the Senbon Sparring: an elaborate Hyuga ritual where one must practice nearly a thousand times in a row. She could even use the Soft Fist to move Naruto's dislocated shoulder. By the time she reaches adulthood, Hinata has become a master of the art of fighting with the Soft Fist.
In the second part, Hinata's taijutsu skills have improved tremendously, and she shows more of her clan's secret techniques. She could use the Eight Trigrams Empty Palm to attack targets from a distance, deflect incoming attacks, or with another user for greater power. In the anime, she learned a halved version of the Eight Trigrams Palm Sixty-Four, the latter of which was used successfully during the Fourth Shinobi War. Hinata has also developed the Twin Fists of the Lion, capable of draining an opponent's chakra network with a single touch. She can even combine this technique with the eight trigrams sixty-four palms. Two years later, Hinata was able to defeat some of Toneri's puppets and put pressure on a hesitant Naruto while he was being controlled by Toneri. She also created the more powerful Eight Trigrams: Twin Lions Crumbling Attack after receiving Hamura's chakra, which could destroy the Tenseigan when combined with Naruto's Rasengan.
Hinata also improved her natural flexibility, creating the Eight Protective Trigrams: Sixty-Four Palms, which uses her excellent natural flexibility and coordination to attack and defend at the same time. In the second part of the anime, she also dodged most of Nurari's attacks, despite his elastic body. She also has quick reflexes, narrowly avoiding Neji by spinning when they almost collided in a corner, surprising her cousin. In the anime, during Tenten's Tsukuyomi Infinite dream, Hinata's version of Genjutsu world can use the eight trigrams of Heaven turning palms.
Medical Ninjutsu
Hinata has medical knowledge, being able to make a special ointment to help heal wounds. Hinata's chakra reserves have increased dramatically, allowing her to instantly recharge an exhausted Naruto without any signs of exhaustion. After further adaptation to Hamura's chakra, Hinata gained the ability to fly from this chakra.
