Introduction
Among all the curses in this fantastic anime, Jogo is the one you just love, regardless of the fact that he is an antagonist, for a number of facts ranging from the durability of his body, funny expressions while he resists pain and suffering without dying, not even when he got rid of his hand in a battle against a curse user .
Jogo's ability to live could be compared to that of a cockroach, but while a cockroach could still live for 2 weeks after his head was cut off, Jogo would remain alive even after all that was left of him was his head. It creates funny moments for the fans, especially when Mahito, Hanami and Geto used his head to play soccer after being defeated by Satoru Gojo.
Apparence
Jogo has one eye in the center of his face and black teeth. The upper half of his head looks like a volcano, which erupts with his ears when he is angry. His ears are plugged with corks. He wears a green shawl with black spots with a black suit. He looks like an old man because of the hump on his back. Jogo also has a cane with a skull as a handle.
Personality
Jogo is a very proud scourge and has a lot of hatred towards humans. He believes that scourges are the purest form of humanity because they represent the true feelings of humans, such as hatred, while humans simulate their positive emotions, so they should be exterminated.
Jogo is very angry, even towards his fellow scourges. His pride makes him insensitive to humans, so murdering them is not a problem for him, but his pride also leads him to be overconfident. Despite his group's warnings about Satoru Gojo's power, Jogo tried to defeat him alone and was beaten to a pulp.
History
Arc Initiation to the Occult
In July 2018, Jogo, Hanami and Dagon meet Suguru Geto at a restaurant to discuss their goals. During this meeting, Jogo reveals that they plan to eliminate all humans. For that, Suguru explains to the scourges that they must ally with Sukuna and make Satoru unable to fight. Only then can they hope to achieve their goal. Suguru advocates the use of the Edge of Mercy to seal Satoru. Jogo excitedly kills everyone in the restaurant and tells him that they won't need the relic.
Later, during one night, Jogo goes to attack Satoru when he is alone. However, the latter gets out of it unharmed to the great surprise of Jogo. The scourge then multiplies its assaults but Satoru does not receive any scratch. While Jogo wonders why Satoru is unharmed, Satoru explains how his ability, the Power of Infinity, works. Satoru then attacks Jogo, kicking him and sending him waltzing through a forest. As Jogo tries to counterattack, Satoru dodges and easily attacks the scourge.
Jogo then remembers that Suguru told him that he would die and then wonders where Satoru is, when Satoru suddenly shows up with Yuji Itadori. Jogo tells him that Sukuna's receptacle will bother him, but Satoru replies that it won't matter since he is weak, which makes the scourge angry. Jogo activates his Territory Extension and traps the two exorcists there. Unfortunately, Satoru uses his territory in turn, instantly immobilizing Jogo. Satoru catches the scourge and explains to him and Yuji how his technique works. Satoru then decapitates Jogo and proceeds to interrogate him, but Hanami intervenes and saves his companion.
Later, Jogo is brought to Dagon's territory, and Suguru says that this defeat proves that they should avoid Satoru until the operation to seal him on October 31 in Shibuya.
Bow Tournament
Some time later, Jogo is relaxing in a hot spring when Mahito and Suguru show up. Jogo and Mahito decide to follow Suguru's plan to have Sukuna on their side. They also talk about how they are going to get the fingers that are at the exorcism school in Tokyo. Later, Jogo talks with Suguru, Mahito and Hanami about the plan on how they will get Sukuna's Fingers along with three other relics located at the exorcism school.
Shibuya Arc Drama
Before October 31, Jogo meets Suguru and explains how Satoru is the strongest when he fights alone. They then set up a plan that will distract Satoru in order to seal him with the Edge of Mercy. Later, Jogo plays mahjong with Hanami, Mahito and Suguru, while the master of the plagues explains them how the relic works.
On October 31 in Shibuya, Jogo is with Hanami and Choso in the curtain surrounding the district. As Satoru arrives at their location, Jogo prepares to fight him with the others. Hanami starts to block all the exits, Satoru tells them that it's not necessary because he doesn't intend to run away. The plagues then surround Satoru with civilians. Then, Hanami and Jogo attack Satoru with the Territory Extender but Satoru manages to get away from them. When Jogo comments that Satoru was not going to run away, Satoru replies that he is surprised because the plagues thought they could defeat him with a poor strategy. As Satoru gets closer to Jogo and Hanami, they attack Satoru. The exorcist manages to dodge their attacks and even manages to tear off Jogo's arm. While Jogo moves away from the fight, Satoru pursues him. Hanami decides to attack Satoru with his spell, but Jogo advises him against it. Unfortunately, Satoru quickly catches Hanami and rips off his branches. Choso manages to distract Satoru, allowing Jogo and Hanami to attack the exorcist. However, Satoru exorcises Hanami by crashing him into a wall, leaving Jogo stunned.
Jogo quickly hides behind the civilians and attacks Satoru from a distance. Jogo then tells Choso to help him, which he does. However, a train full of altered humans arrives and starts attacking people, much to Jogo's delight. Mahito then exits the train and Jogo informs him of Hanami's death. As more and more humans come to their location, Jogo, Mahito and Choso combine their attacks on Satoru. Satoru activates his Territory Extension for 0.2 seconds, freezing all the people in the subway and then Satoru starts killing all the altered humans, about a thousand of them.
After Jogo recovers from the effects of the territory, he heads towards Mahito and Suguru. Jogo notices that something is wrong and watches the Edge of Supplication sink into the ground. Suguru then informs Jogo that they will have to wait until the relic is completely mastered Satoru. However, they all learn that other exorcists will come to their location and decide to go into action. While the other plagues try to kill Yuji, Jogo wants to resurrect Sukuna and goes to find him. Once all the humans of their location have been eliminated, Jogo pursues Mahito but a double blocks his way.
Later in the evening, when Dagon is exorcised, Jogo mourns his companion and incinerates him. Jogo then takes care of Kento, Maki and Naobito but stops when he suddenly feels one of Sukuna's Fingers. Jogo quickly reaches the place where the finger is and discovers that Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba are making Yuji swallow a Sukuna's Finger. The two sisters then retreat and Jogo makes Yuji swallow ten of the Sukuna Fingers. He turns around to see Mimiko and Nanako, but before he can do anything, Sukuna wakes up. Frightened, Jogo and the two sisters surrender to the Scourge King. Sukuna then asks Mimiko and Nanako what they want and kills them right after their answer. Sukuna then turns to Jogo and repeats his question. Jogo answers that he doesn't want anything and explains that he just wants Sukuna to come back to life so that the plague era can exist. After that, Sukuna rejects his proposal because he has other plans. Sukuna then makes a deal with Jogo: if he can strike a blow against him, he will do whatever he wants (for the moment), which Jogo accepts.
Jogo then fights Sukuna but gets completely dominated. Jogo then uses his Superior Technique: Meteorite but discovers that Sukuna is unharmed. Sukuna wonders why Jogo doesn't use his Territory Extension, to which the scourge replies that his territory would lose. As things progress, Sukuna begins to use fire-based attacks much to Jogo's confusion. The fight continues and, Jogo is defeated and killed by Sukuna. He later meets Hanami and Dagon in the "afterlife" and Hanami explains that they still have Mahito and that they will be reborn one day but a little differently. While he proclaims that they are the real humans, Sukuna shows up and explains how weak Jogo is for trying to be like humans. Sukuna also explains that he had fun fighting him and that he should be proud of his power. Jogo starts to cry and wonders what it is, to which Sukuna replies that he doesn't know.
Skills & Competencies
Jogo is an unclassified S-class plague, like Mahito, Hanami and Dagon, born from the fear of humans towards the earth and the volcanic processes it generates. According to Suguru, it would equal the power of at least 8 to 9 of Sukuna's Fingers. He has shown that he is extremely strong, forcing the King of Scourges to recognize his value.
Increased strength: Jogo has great strength. He can strike powerful blows and was even able to create a big impact just by jumping when he appeared in front of Satoru for the first time.
High durability during combat: With an incredible level of durability, he was able to continue a fight even if various parts of his limbs were cut or if he bled excessively. Likewise, he showed great resistance to pain, a resistance that allowed him to endure long periods in battle.
During various confrontations, parts of his limbs were cut off and he continued to fight without showing much importance to the matter. During his confrontation with Sukuna, his limbs were cut off several times in a row but this was no reason to give up and he continued to fight until the end to Sukuna's great pleasure.
Increased speed: Jogo has great speed. He was able to catch the class 1 exorcists Kento and Naobito as well as Maki by surprise and burn them all one by one without them being able to do anything. He also ran through the entire Shibuya station and quickly found Yuji after sensing a Sukuna Finger near the student.
Advanced Regeneration: Due to his nature as an S-Class Scourge, Jogo can easily strengthen his body with occult energy to regenerate lost limbs. Notably, he faced Satoru where he ended up losing his entire body except for his head and managed to regenerate it without any problems after resting for a few days. During his return fight against Satoru and his fight against Sukuna, Jogo quickly restored the limbs that his two assailants had cut off.
Jujutsu
Immense occult energy: Jogo has a vast amount of occult energy as he is a scourge. He uses his jujutsu in the form of fire and lava attacks. Jogo can even burn down entire people. He also has skillful control over his occult energy as he has both Superior Technique and Territory Extension. His occult energy is so immense that he can materialize his attacks like the huge meteorite propelled in Shibuya.
Innate Spell: Using his spell, Jogo is able to create mini volcanoes that can create extremely powerful eruptions of fire capable of destroying everything in their path. He is also able to create and control lava and flames.
- Volcanic Hornets: Large insects with a stinger in front of their head. When they sting someone, they create a loud noise and explode.
- Superior Technique: Meteorite: Jogo can create a gigantic fire meteorite and throw it at his target, causing immense destruction in the surroundings.
- Territory Expansion: Volcanic Casket: Jogo's Territory Expansion recreates the interior of a volcano under his control. Anyone trapped inside is instantly burned.
Extension of Territory: This technique neutralizes all spells with which it comes into contact. It acts as a fluid shield that completely covers the user's body, like an aura.
