He is a member of the Hero Association and is currently ranked number 63 in class B in the anime, 7th in class B in the manga and 39th in class A in the webcomic, knowing that the hero classes are S (the most powerful), A, B and C (the least good).
However, unbeknownst to everyone, Saitama is the strongest man in the world, and undoubtedly the strongest in the universe. His power is such that, except for one alien who wore armor and needed two hits, all of Saitama's opponents lost the fight after a single punch.
Saitama's dream is to one day find an opponent of his level, because so far fighting has been nothing but a bore for Saitama. Only very few people still alive know Saitama's true power, the Hero Association not knowing his fighting abilities has given him the following hero name: The Caped Crusader. Saitama is bald, and he hates it when people mention his baldness.
Personality
Saitama is well known for his legendary nonchalance. When someone talks to him about serious things, there are two scenarios: either he doesn't care at all and daydreams, often with a piece of gum in his mouth, or he wants to listen but yells at his interlocutor to give him information of no more than ten words. Moreover, he is not aware of the responsibilities of being a hero, and he takes superheroism as his hobby.
The proof that he doesn't listen to what he is told: when one of his opponents says that he is the King of the Monsters, Saitama quietly shoots him down without the knowledge of the other heroes, and when the heroes later talk about a King of the Monsters, Saitama suddenly wants to meet this one, even though he has already confronted him without listening to who it is.
Saitama is also extremely inexpressive. He always wears the same frozen face, especially when a superhuman enemy releases all his power in front of Saitama before attacking. There are a few situations where he will look panicked, but it is usually because he has lost his wallet or missed the day of the sale. He doesn't even seem to realize the daily dangers that harass him.
Saitama often doesn't understand much about his situation. When he is attacked by a thirty meters high monstrous dog that spits out devastating rays of energy, he just sees a poor doggie and flattens it to the ground with a punch. Same thing when he meets an S-class hero in a corridor: he doesn't recognize the hero at all, even though he has already seen him at several high-class hero meetings, and takes him for a monster.
Otherwise, in his daily life: he is a simple man who communicates very little with other people. He has so little regard for the way people look at him (as long as it doesn't relate directly to his role as a hero) that he is capable of all sorts of improbable actions, and without embarrassment. When he is annoyed, he is not afraid to point it out or just doze off. During a martial arts tournament, he is not ashamed of having tied his kimono belt (a white one at that) very badly, nor is he ashamed of the fact that someone openly announces his ridiculous demand: "please do not touch my head".
He is also very stingy: at the restaurant, he fools his guests so that they pay. Once, he also openly tells his guests that they have no business being in his home. This often ruins his social relationships, yet he manages to make a few friends, all of whom are class S heroes.
Powers and abilities
Powers
-
Absolute Strength: Saitama possesses seemingly unlimited physical strength and is able to effortlessly defeat powerful monsters and villains with a single, nonchalant punch (although this strength is not limited to punches). Saitama's punch is so powerful that many enemies simply explode when hit. He is also able to effortlessly destroy walls and buildings. An example of this casual, yet overwhelming offensive power occurs when Saitama launches himself from the top of a building, punches through a city-sized meteorite with one punch, lands safely, and calmly decides to head home. Saitama has shown that he is able to control the force of his attacks but he still tends to go overboard, sometimes causing massive destruction afterwards. In fact, he would be able to destroy the Earth if he wanted to. Many characters have said that his strength defies reason.
- Improved jumps: Saitama's inability to fly is somewhat compensated for by his immense leg strength, which allows him to jump at high speed from enormous heights and distances. His greatest feat in this regard was when he jumped from the surface of the Moon and ended up back on Earth at a specific point, leaving a crater on the surface of the Moon in the process.
- Shockwave: As evidenced by his famous training with Genos, Saitama can control and direct his power in the form of a massive shockwave from his punches. He uses this to show Genos a glimpse of his true power, but stops him before he hits this one, the shockwave from the attack completely annihilating the mountain behind it.
- Air Manipulation: Saitama's incredible strength gives him the ability to create large gusts of air. Saitama demonstrated his ability to control the amount of wind he generates from his strength when he put out a fire in this manner.
-
Absolute Resistance: Saitama can withstand the blows of extremely powerful beings without suffering a single scratch or pain. No character has been able to damage, or even physically harm Saitama. He even survived the harsh conditions of space without being injured during his brief stay on the moon. It has been shown that, despite the dangers of holding his breath in space, Saitama can do so without any negative effects on his body. Saitama also prefers to dodge or block attacks rather than take them head-on, as he sometimes does with punches or blunt objects. However, when he does take them head-on, the object usually shatters or is destroyed.
- Heat Immunity: Saitama is immune to all types of temperature related aggression. In fact, he is immune to the effects of temperature in general. This ability can be attributed to the fact that Saitama refused to use air conditioning or heating during his training.
- Absolute speed and reflexes: Saitama was able to sprint 1500 meters in an instant during his hero trials. He has shown the ability to effortlessly keep up with an enemy who can move at speeds above hypersonic. Saitama also demonstrated his ability to descend a building to save a piece of salmon he was having for lunch, and to climb back up said building without bystanders noticing. When sent to the moon with an excessively powerful kick, Saitama returned to Earth in just a few seconds, showing that Saitama can even travel at sub-relative speeds. Saitama also easily blocked rock shots with near-light speed, which is a bad joke for him. Ironically, despite his incredible reflexes and speed, he still has trouble swatting a single mosquito.
- Absolute Agility: Saitama has proven to be a perfect dodger and is capable of performing very acrobatic maneuvers. Saitama's reflexes make him flexible enough to move through the narrowest of streams and dodge attacks at close range. Saitama is also capable of parkour, which he can couple with combat moves, as shown in his flashbacks.
- Absolute stamina: Saitama has never been shown to tire when fighting enemies. Even when throwing a punch more powerful than a planet-destroying attack, Saitama has shown no signs of fatigue. The only time Saitama showed himself panting and out of breath, he recovered a few seconds later.
- Absolute Dexterity: Saitama is able to move any of his limbs at extremely fast speeds without flinching, stopping only when his target is completely obliterated. This is seen when Saitama flawlessly hits all the moles on a Whack-A-Mole machine during the Hero Association exam.
- Absolute Senses: Saitama's senses are far beyond the human norm. He possesses impressively acute hearing, able to pick up the various chatter of passers-by from a safe distance, even when fighting monsters and the like.
Capabilities
- Expert in hand-to-hand combat: Although he has not received any formal training, Saitama is a very competent and skilled hand-to-hand fighter. Through his many battles with monsters and villains during his training, he has gained a great deal of combat experience and has developed many skills. Due to his immeasurable power and boredom, he usually does not care about technique and uses imperfect basic attacks. As the powerful Garoh notes, most of his usual moves are wasteful and lack finesse; however, once he gets serious, Saitama becomes a very skilled and powerful fighter. Saitama mostly uses improvised fighting techniques to take down his enemies. However, he can easily read, counter and hit the moves and techniques of fighters with much more experience and training than him. Even a skilled martial artist commented on his prowess by noting that he has real combat experience. He is also able to skillfully combine his superhuman abilities to overwhelm his opponents and even use the environment around him to his advantage. He also uses karate chops and grappling moves to take down bad guys he doesn't want to kill, or simply to stun people who come after him.
- Improvisation: Saitama is very skilled with improvised weapons, such as when he killed his first monster by skillfully using his tie to grab the monster's eye and pull out its intestines. He knows how to improvise in general. When he can't solve a fight with a punch or can't hit his enemy directly, he always finds a solution somehow and uses very special moves that are supported by his immeasurable power.
- Intimidation: Although he doesn't seem particularly scary, those who know of his abilities show that they are afraid of him. Saitama can emit a "powerful aura", which causes his enemies to tremble and pressure. He is also able to invoke fear in those he dislikes or who bother him by simply threatening them.
- Indomitable Will: Saitama has shown that he possesses incredible willpower. It is especially evident in the flashback of his hero training regimen. Even if he was in great pain, or could barely move, or was vomiting blood, he continued his training. Through sheer will and effort, he removed his natural limiter.
-
- Immense psychic resistance: Fubuki noted that Saitama is virtually immune to any psychic attack and very resistant to manipulation due to his amazing willpower. However, Tatsumaki's telekinetic attacks have enough power to throw him several dozen miles.
Relations
- Genos: Saitama met Genos after the cyborg was defeated by a monster. He tried to destroy himself but Saitama saved him. Genos asked to become his disciple, which he nonchalantly accepted, thinking that the cyborg was not serious. Although Saitama was initially annoyed at having an apprentice, he grew warmer and warmer towards Genos, and even began to worry about him.
