Yuji Itadori

Yuji Itadori is the main protagonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is the son of Jin Itadori and the grandson of Wasuke Itadori who lived a normal life until he met Megumi and ate one of Sukuna's fingers. After becoming Sukuna's vessel, Yuji began attending Tokyo Jujutsu High alongside Megumi and Nobara as freshmen.

Appearance

Yuji is a young man of average height and appears to have a slim build when wearing loose clothing, but actually has a lean, muscular physique. He also has relatively large light brown eyes and thorny pink hair (brownish blonde in the manga) that is styled in an undercut manner. Upon becoming Sukuna's vessel after eating his finger, he gains a second pair of eyes that only open when Sukuna controls his body with his many marks.

At the beginning of the series, Yuji wore a light colored hooded jacket, black high cuffed pants and white shoes. However, in the anime, his pants were denim and his shoes were bright red. When Yuji enrolled at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, he started wearing his version of the uniform; a black long-sleeved gakuran-like shirt over a red hoodie, black pants and red shoes.

He gets a visible scar between his two eyes and a smaller scar on his left corner of the mouth during the Shibuya incident.

Personality

Yuji is a just person who truly cares not only for his comrades, but for all those he considers to be people with their own will, despite the depth or shallowness of his connection to them. He highly praises "the value of life" and to that end, he will see to it that others receive a "proper death." For this reason, he believes that it is morally unethical for him to take another human life, and tries to avoid any possibility of doing so except as a last resort.

He is also not without his more energetic and outgoing traits. Like his frequent comical moments where he was seen alongside Nobara talking about Tokyo and his eagerness to train with Gojo or even entertaining Junpei and his mother. Yuji is also very passionate whenever he focuses on achieving certain goals and is quite stubborn when confronted with them, such as when Yaga wonders why Yuji wanted to become a wizard. He is also quite naive due to his inexperience in the world of cursed spirits and jujutsu wizards, but proves to be a quick learner, able to adapt to his environment and learn to use cursed energy quickly.

Although usually composed, good-hearted and friendly, Yuji can be quickly angered by pure malice after witnessing first-hand the cruelty of which curses were capable, especially Mahito's inhumane exploitation of Junpei. Yuji felt so deeply disgusted that he felt a sincere desire to kill for the first time in his life and had a very intense but focused hatred towards the cursed spirit.

One of Yuji's defining traits is his willingness to sacrifice himself for others, triggered by his grandfather's last words for him to die surrounded by others. When he and Megumi were under threat of being killed by a curse, Yuji impulsively swallowed Sukuna's finger to exorcise the curse and save them even though they met Megumi for the first time that day.

Overall skill level: Yuji is one of the most powerful and talented students in his school, with Satoru Gojo placing him on the same level of potential as Yuta Okkotsu and Kinji Hakari as one of the three students he believes will surpass his strengths. Although he had no connection to the world of jujutsu a few months before the Shibuya incident, Yuji was able to face and defeat the grade 1 and special grade curses. Yuji was gifted with superhuman physical abilities which he masterfully combines with his cursed energy. Yuji is also able to contain Sukuna without any ill effects. This allows him to harm Mahito, whose control over his soul form makes him otherwise resistant to injury.

Superhuman Strength: Yuji is quite powerful even without the use of cursed energy, as he can destroy walls with ease, throwing a lead ball with enough force to bend a soccer goal post, and has also been able to throw a car. As powerful as he is, especially when it comes to fighting, his exceptional strength can often be increased to additional levels with the use of the diverging fist and the black flash allowing him to exorcise cursed spirits. His unique strength has also been compared to Kento Nanami, a 1st year wizard. He can even harm Hanami and Choso,two curses that have remarkable durability and toughness,the former being almost impossible to damage.

Improved speed and reflexes:Yuji has great speed and can complete a 50 meter run in 3 seconds, which implies that he can run at speeds of 60.12 km / h (37.3 mph). He was also shown to dodge the attacks of the five opposing wizards of the Kyoto school students who tried to assassinate him. He was fast enough to evade Choso's Piercing Blood, which moves at the speed of sound, proving that he has superb reflexes.

Improved Durability: Yuji's durability surpasses that of the average wizard. He was able to continuously take hits from Choso during their fight and even Piercing Blood, an attack moving at the speed of sound did not pierce Yuji immediately. He was also able to withstand many of Mahito's attacks in his Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing form and continue fighting.

Enhanced Stamina: Matching his other superhuman abilities, Yuji possesses a large amount of stamina and has often been shown continuing to fight through severe injuries for longer periods of time without rest. Such as when his hand was cut off and his fingers disintegrated during the fight against the Fingerbearer allowing Megumi to escape with Nobara. He was also able to withstand several toxic stab wounds when he tried to stop Junpei from hurting anyone in his school. Especially after when he also suffered damage from Mahito and was still able to go on the attack.

Skilled learner: Yuji is a curious person and a serious student. He is also good at progressing - being quick at Satoruet's film appreciation training and quickly realizing Aoi Todo's advice. According to Akutami, he is the best in cooking among the first-year trio. He has been able to master the use of martial arts alongside cursed energy and has perfected it to a level with which he can face special grade curses. He was even able to use Black Flash four times in a row shortly after learning of its existence.

Master Hand-to-Hand Fighter: Yuji is one of the greatest, if not the greatest martial artist in the series. With his fighting prowess, go toe-to-toe with Aoi Todo, another extremely skilled martial artist and can effortlessly defeat a semi-grade 1 cursed spirit, and challenge special grade curses using only martial arts and infusing his style with cursed energy. Yuji also has impressive control over his attacks, being able to pause his punch a moment before impact and adjust its power in several counter-strokes. Yuji's fighting style is generally portrayed as being very acrobatic with his movements, allowing him to hit his opponent from many different angles which also allows him to evade many attacks coming from the front. Essentially giving him great offensive and defensive abilities, especially if the initial strike he is aiming for has been blocked, he is able to use high flying kicks, unorthodox punches and even a knee strike to retaliate. He is also skilled in a style of martial arts known as Taido Martial Arts. This gives him the ability to perform the

Knee Release, which is an ancient martial arts technique that eliminates starting movements and allows Yuji to release his knees, hips and shoulders to guide him to his opponent's feet instead of falling.

By combining the above technique with Taido martial arts, Yuji can perform a Manji Kick, where he uses the momentum to throw his right leg up and land a kick to his opponent's head. By adding cursed energy to this attack, it can harm cursed spirits.

Poison Resistance: Since Yuji is Sukuna's host, he has a resistance to all kinds of poisons. Yuji will feel the pain of poison, but is usually unaffected. This ability was first demonstrated in his fight with Junpei when he could resist Moon Dregs' poison.

Weapon Mastery: Yuji was not trained in the use of weapons; however, due to his physical strength and skill, he can still become proficient quickly.

Jujutsu

Handling of cursed energy

 Great Cursed Energy: Yuji's cursed energy comes from the parts of the special grade curse, Ryomen Sukuna. He doesn't seem to have an innate technique, but he has shown great skill in learning to control the cursed energy.

Currently, Yuji mainly uses cursed energy combined with his martial arts skills and superhuman strength to enhance his strikes, increasing their impact and allowing him to hurt curses.

Through the various training regimes he had, Yuji had a better grasp of the nature of cursed energy than most of his peers. By the time he had his rematch with Mahito in the Shibuya incident, Yuji was able to learn how to use Black Flash almost at will.

Diverging Fist: After Yuji hits a target, his cursed energy circulates and makes a second, stronger impact. Divergent Fist was often used at first, but after Yuji's fight with Aoi Todo at the Kyoto sister school's goodwill event and the criticism of this attack from Kyoto's third year, he has all but stopped using it. Yuji can currently voluntarily perform this attack, so he is an expert in using this power.

Black Flash: A technique that creates a spatial distortion when a user connects with an impact of cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit. The phenomenon causes a cursed power to flash black, creating a more powerful attack at the power of 2.5 of a normal hit. Currently, Yuji is able to use Black Flash four times in a row and has executed it a total of nine times.

Yuji has an unnamed bonding vow with Sukuna. The King of Curses agreed to revive the boy after his apparent death in the Cursed Womb Arc under two conditions:

(1) Yuji would allow Sukuna to take control of his body for a full minute when the cursed spirit chanted "Enchain".

(2) He would forget the agreement.

Yuji initially objected to the binding vow, making Sukuna promise that he would not kill or harm anyone during that minute. The boy still didn't agree to the terms and instead had a battle with the curse king, where he would allow the agreement to happen if he lost. Sukuna defeated Yuji effortlessly, forcing him to take the binding vow.

Slaughter Demon A charm weapon given by Satoru Gojo, originally belonging to Maki Zenin. It is effective against curses. Slaughter Demon was destroyed by a special quality finger carrier.

Several facts about Yuji:

• Despite being called "The Tiger of West Junior High", Akutami really hadn't thought about it at all.
• If Yuji and Aoi went to the same junior high that wasn't wizard related, they would probably find something in common.
• Yuji ranked 1st in the 1st popularity poll of the manga characters with 21,735 votes.
  Yuji is 173 centimeters tall (5'8 ") and, according to Akutami, will continue to grow.
• He weighs about 80 kilograms (176 lbs), but his body fat percentage is in the single digits.
• Yuji loves to watch television.
• He has a vast repertoire of half-baked impressions.
• He is not picky about food.
• He's not really a hoodie guy but wears it because he can be indecisive.
