The seven alters of Izuku Midoriya !

Ever since My Hero Academia revealed that Midoriya Izuku would one day be able to control the alters of previous One For All users, fans have been eagerly awaiting the new abilities that the previously alter-less hero of the series could one day exercise. To unlock each alter, several specialized training regimes had to be completed.

Besides Deku, there were eight other One For All users; but since All Might didn't have an alter before inheriting it, Deku was always going to inherit those of the other seven users, and they're all impressive.

Blackwhip - Fifth alter of the One For All user

Blackwhip, which originally belonged to Daigoro Banjo - the fifth user of One For All - allows its user to create and independently control multiple strong black tendrils from his body. Blackwhip is One For All's most versatile alter; its many tendrils can be used as auxiliary limbs, allowing Deku to grasp objects he would not normally be able to reach, or as a mobility buffer. They are strong enough to support Deku's full weight when he chooses to swing from a building or catapult himself thanks to the tension created by the tendrils when stretched.

The black whip is also very useful in combat. All the mobility advantages they give Deku can be applied to combat, as well as the unexpected ability to grab and hold opponents at impossible distances. Thanks to the black creeper, it has become very easy for Deku to overpower dangerous villains.

Float - The seventh alter of the One For All user

Float was originally owned by Nana Shimura, the seventh user of One For All and All Might's mentor. Float is a very simple alter that has only one purpose: it gives its user the ability to fly and keep full control of their movements while in the air. Once Deku unlocked this alter, it quickly became his preferred method of movement - and for good reason; Float allowed him far better maneuverability than anything Shoot Style could offer.

After years of blending in with the great power of One For All, Float, which Deku is currently wielding in My Hero Academia, is far more powerful than the one Nana Shimura used. It's even faster now, and when combined with other alters like Blackwhip and Fa Jin, it allows Deku to mimic the top speed of All Might for a while.

Danger Sense - Fourth alter of One For All

During his lifetime, Hikage Shinomori used his alter to remain hidden from the public while he reinforced One For All, but Deku takes a more active approach to using this sensory alter. As the name suggests, Danger Sense alerts Deku to any potential threats in his surroundings, though it does not grant him omniscience of his surroundings. The alter only reacts to negative emotions and hostile intentions directed at Deku. This is a subtle distinction, but it means that the alter is not as reliable when it comes to non-human threats.

The alter's main weakness remains Himiko Toga, the sadistic and disturbed shifter from the League of Villains. Toga is genuinely in love with Deku, and even though her preferred methods of expressing this emotion are potentially lethal, Danger Sense has never considered her a threat since she doesn't hold a grudge. Similarly, the alter did not react when Deku confronted her classmates. Although they used force, the 1-A class had her best interest at heart and Danger Sense understood this, refusing to alert Deku to her classmates' devious strategies.

Smokescreen - Sixth alter of One For All

En's alter was perfect for creating a quick distraction or hiding in secret. It is the least offensive alter in Deku's roster and can even become a nuisance if used too much. All Smokescreen does is emit a thick black smoke from Deku's body when activated. When he wants to, he can instantly hide in a cloud of smoke similar to a ninja's smoke bomb, and the similarities don't end there. Like a smoke bomb, the Smokescreen caster is not immune to its effects, so he must use it wisely.

En described all of One For All's alters, but especially its Smokescreen, and the additional tools that the main power allowed Deku to use. According to him, none of them could ever become powerful enough to give rise to unique ultimate moves, but skillfully choosing how and when to activate specific effects would allow Deku to accomplish much more than if he had purely offensive alters.

Fa Jin - Third alter of the One For All user

Fa Jin originally belonged to the third user of One For All, who has yet to be named. As the first offensive alter inherited by Deku, Fa Jin gave him his greatest power increase since he perfected Full Cowling. This alter allows Deku to charge and store kinetic energy in his body when he performs repetitive movements. Deku can release this energy whenever he wants, giving him a burst of speed and power.

Deku can regulate the amount of energy Fa Jin releases each time he uses this alter, and recharging it is as simple as waving his arm in a continuous circular motion. Its ease of use and activation makes it very reliable in battle, especially since it increases its allowed limit of 45% One For All to mimic 100% All Might for short periods of time. The overall effect of Fa Jin is that it allows Deku to put devastating power behind deceptively light strikes. This was the first alter that suggested he would be able to surpass All Might in strength - even at the top of the iconic hero.

Transmission - Second alter of the One For All user

Transmission is another alter booster like Fa Jin. It was previously owned by the second user of One For All, whose name remains unknown, and is the last alter that Deku will inherit from One For All. Transmission allows Deku to change the speed of objects he touches. Like many other touch alters, Deku can use Transmission on himself, going from a respectable speed hero to little more than a green blur.
