The Elusive Samurai

The year 1333 marks a turbulent era for the Japanese archipelago. The Hōjō clan, rulers of the Kamakura shogunate, begins to falter under the relentless assaults of its enemies. Tokiyuki Hōjō, the young clan heir only eight years old, enjoys a carefree princely life until the traitor Ashikaga Takauji orchestrates a devastating surprise attack.

In a single blood-soaked night, Tokiyuki’s entire lineage is wiped out by ruthless blades. The young aristocrat escapes the massacre solely thanks to his extraordinary talent: an exceptional gift for evasion and concealment. Miraculously rescued by the enigmatic warrior monk Yorishige Suwa, Tokiyuki soon discovers that fate has chosen him to fulfill an seemingly impossible mission.

Yorishige reveals to the young prince an ancient prophecy: he is destined to become a legendary champion and reclaim Kamakura from Ashikaga’s forces.
