⛩ Marshall D. Teach, more commonly known by his epithet "Blackbeard," is the captain-turned-admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates. He is one of the four emperors who rule the New World. He is also the only person known in history to wield the powers of two Devil Fruits and belongs to a special lineage, known only to a select few, including his crew and the Five Elders.
D. Teach started his pirate career as an apprentice with the Whitebeard Pirates, later becoming a member of the 2nd division. However, he killed Thatch, the 4th division commander, to steal the Yami Yami no Mi, a Devil Fruit. A rare Logia-based fruit, its powers are related to darkness and the ability to nullify other Devil Fruit abilities.
He then fled from the Whitebeard crew, defeated the infamous 2nd Division commander Portgas D. Ace, handed him over to the Marines, and obtained a position among the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
