⛩ Team Kakashi, also known as Team 7, is a team led by Kakashi Hatake and formed as a result of the promotion to genin of its members. The members were chosen to balance the strengths: Naruto, the worst student in his class, would benefit from Sakura's intelligence and Sasuke's ninja skills. Sakura would have teammates who were made for fighting, while Sasuke would be forced to work as a team.
When Sasuke deserted Konoha, Team 7 was separated for two and a half years. The remaining members then reunited as Team Kakashi for the mission to rescue Gaara. Afterwards, Sai replaced Sasuke in the team at the request of Danzo of the Root, and Yamato was put in charge during Kakashi's hospitalization. Although this training was intended to be only a replacement, all subsequent missions of the team were led by Yamato.
