⛩ Kakuzu was an S-rank rogue ninja from the Hidden Waterfall Village and a member of the Akatsuki, partnered with Hidan. Kisame Hoshigaki jokingly called them the “Zombie Brothers,” due to the fact that, in a sense, they couldn't die. Within the organization itself, Kakuzu acted as the treasurer.
Kakuzu and Hidan form the most efficient team in the Akatsuki for team combat. Indeed, Hidan's immortality allows Kakuzu to attack opponents without worrying about his partner's health. This strategy enables this immortal duo to create combined attacks that are much more dangerous to the enemy. On one hand, you have Kakuzu's long-range techniques, which have great reach and devastating effects; and on the other, Hidan's close-combat techniques, which focus on a single target and are highly dangerous.
He possesses five hearts in total that can control all or part of him, as well as four masks embedded in his back, which, when controlled by one of the hearts, allow the use of a particular element. Once removed from his body, they can attack independently, each having a body made of black tendrils characteristic of Kakuzu.
