When King Vegeta learned of Broly's power, he became afraid and ordered that Broly and his father be eliminated. For King Vegeta, it was unthinkable that such power could arise from anyone but the royal bloodline of his family.
After an assassination attempt on him, Broly and his father went into exile on a remote planet, plotting their revenge against King Vegeta and his descendants.
According to Vegeta, Broly is the embodiment of the legendary Super Saiyan.
